No. I haven't drank wine since I was quite young and many flavors of Boone's Farm were my favorites.

I like Pinot Noir. Blackstone, Turning Leaf, or Robert Mondavi.
Only red wines --for medicinal reasons, of course.

I like Reislings, and there are many more on the market now.
Some are very good, others not so good, as with any wine, I guess.

Yes, I enjoy good red wine. Unfortunately, my palate has been trained to dislike most wines that I can afford. But I score a good bargain now and then, and I love the hunt.

Yes, my fave is a white wine called Pinot Grigio, it's very light and has an aroma of fruit. but I'm no expert on wines at all. I just know I bought one bottle an d liked it, so I go back and keep buying the one I know I like.

I also enjoy a Pinot Grigio or a Chardonney but a nice dry red is my favorite. A Shiraz, or a Cabernet/Merlot. I love to try new wines. I live in the Wine Belt in Niagara so we have lots of great wineries to visit and sample from.

No....and my DH used to be a wine and spirits salesman.

My favorite is Peisporter. A German white wine. Not real dry, but fruity. I just bought 6 bottles tonight. DD and her family are coming from California. She likes red, but I have no idea about them. Her DH will have to pick those out.

Guess what? We're going to be getting another wine cellar like the big one in the garage. Too much wine here for our current capacity.

Lindsay - I remember Callaway's rose from years ago! I think I had it in mid-80's when I toured their very down-to-earth winery.

My favorite is Pacific Rim Dry Reisling (formerly made by Bonny Doon vineyards), which is a departure from my usual mid-priced chardonnays and pinot grigios. I like Concannon and Fetzer chardonnays, and Cavit pinot grigio, but I'm open for almost any dry white wine. For reds, I like a good Pinot Noir or Shiraz. Cabernet's good with a heavier beef meal, though.

I was quite the wine snob in the 1980's -- I toured many private wineries usually not open to the public, like Shramsburg, famous for their champagne-style sparkling wines (can't call it "Champagne" outside of the Champagne region of France).

I live in the Santa Cruz Mtns, where several wineries have been threatened in the past week by the fire in Bonny Doon. It's contained now, with no horrific damage, but it was scary for the wine growers, with harvest due to start soon. Maybe the wines will have a bit more mineral taste this year due to the ashes. Could be a whole new genre of wines!

Enough. So I guess I'm still a wine snob.

I love wine. I can't afford the really nice wines, but I do like Yellow Tail and Little Penguin, which are quite affordable. Reds seem to have something in them that makes me unable to sleep at night, so I've been drinking white wine, mostly.

And I'm a peasant- I buy boxed wine, too. Franzia makes a couple of really nice whites, Refreshing White and Crisp White. I can't get them here, though, so I have to buy them when I'm in TX or Jen brings me some when she comes up, bless her heart! I also make fabric covers for the wine boxes so I can leave them on the counter and they don't scream "tacky!" lol I know a lot of people turn up their noses at boxed wine, but pour it into a decanter and serve and most people compliment it. I'm sure a true connisseur(sp) would be able to tell the difference, but the average person enjoys them.

I drink a bit of wine most nights to help me wind down. I'll also a bit of a connoisseur. There's nothing like that moment when I turn that knob and the wine flows out of the box over the ice into my plastic red cup (must be red!)

I drink too little to really delve into wine. There was a time in my 20s when I was single, childless and living in a big city (no driving) that I started drinking better wines with my friends (not great but better) but luckily my palate never got used to it. The great thing about the box is that is stays fresh (fresh enough for me anyway) for a very long time. Since I'm only drinking a couple of ounces a night and not every night, that works for me.

Red Sangria for me.

I'm not much of a wine drinker, but when I do drink it I like something light and fruity. I prefer white over red. Red is usually too dry for me.

A dry red for me. DH is happy with fruit punch, er, white zinfandel.

A good dry white it my favorite. I got hooked on Orvieto while living in Rome (about $3.00/bottle over there). I'm trying to drink more red, though, because it is heart healthy. I just don't find it as refreshing, especially in the summer.

I love wine....a Good Drive Cab is my fav. but since it is summer and reds tend to give me a headache in the summer I am trying to find a good dry Chard. any suggestions? STacy

Drank Chardonnay for years and years. Could not understand the big deal about red wines ... until I went to Argentina. I was forced to try Malbec and WOW, love at first sip. Been drinking red ever since. Love a good Merlot or Cab.

Malbec is a great and very underused red wine. Have you ever tried Cab Franc? That's also another good one, very dry and fruity with hints of pepper.

My favorite wine changes with the season. When its 90+ degrees outside, nothing beats a good sauv blanc. I really like the ones from New Zealand which have an herbal, grassiness to them.

Grinch....easy to find a great, drinkable chardonnay. But you need to answer a few questions because the taste of chardonnay can vary greatly. For example, if you don't like "smokey, oakey" chards, look for ones aged in steel, as opposed to oak (it usually says this on the label). If you like buttery and big fruit, look for chards from Sonoma or Napa valley. If you like just fruity, looks for chards from non-California vineyards. Washington state and Oregon have some very excellent (and very cheap) chardonnays, as does the North Fork of Long Island (NY).

If you tell me what you look for in a good chard and about how much you want to spend per bottle, I can recommend some.

I remembered another great local wine -- Zinfandel from Zayante Vineyards. It's a bit more fruity than I normally like, but it is sooooooo good! Not cheap, though, at $16-18 per bottle.

Haven't tried all that many different types. I generally like a white zinfandel, but there's been some boxed red that I kind of liked. And I really like Cook's Spumanti sparkling wine, but the problem is after 4 or 5 bottles, I'm kind of out of it. Now where's that 5th bottle????

The buttery flavor in some Chardonnays isn't limited to grapes being grown in Napa or Sonoma Valleys. The buttery flavor comes from being aged in oak barrels. If you don't like the butter flavor, look for Chardonnay that says it was aged in stainless steel.

No for me neither. Not only, I'm allergic to some of them but also, I don't really care for them.

I love red wine, especially cabernet and merlots. A good dry Chardonnay is made by Three Blind Moose. Very crisp and oaky.

I'm suppose to have a glass of red wine every night as per my Doc. Good for the heart and digestion - but bad for the waistline. :-( So, I have to plan ahead to have a glass of wine at night, by perserving calories through out the day. It's like a scale, wine on one side and food on the other. So, more times than naught food wins!

Or if I have been good and perserved my calories it's some times a toss up between a glass of wine or dark chocolate (which is also very good for you).

Who am I kidding. This is a lot closer to the truth:

Sometimes I don't care how many calories I've consumed that day and have wine AND chocolate. AND I'd still drink wine even if my Dr DIDN'T approve. AND I always have an extra square of chocolate more than the suggested serving size.
