Had lunch Sunday with Flamingo! 3 PICS

My family and I were in Branson for a 4 day vacation after moving my DD into a apartment near her college. Flamingo was able to meet us for a wonderful lunch at a place called Sugar Leaf Bakery. We had a fun visit as usual. After lunch we sampled some 'fried peas' (crunchy! We decided we liked them!) and a slice of yummy coconut cake. Talked about all of you here at the KT and lots of other not as interesting stuff. lol

The midget is kneeling on a chair. :-) (me on the left, Mingo on the right)

Some goodies, a aloe plant and a cup caddy that she gifted me for my birthday (along with some wonderful goat's milk soap and a natural sponge which is already in my shower).

This is the reason I needed a vacation. There was also a truck and car loaded with things.

It's been a tiring 2 weeks helping my DD get things packed and organized. The 100 degree temps last week didn't help.

Flamingo - if I seemed more 'loopy' than usual I hope you understand. :-)

Glad to be back on my own computer! I was too slow at the daily trivia without a mouse. The fingerpad thingie does not work well for me when I need speed. lol

You two sure are cuties! Bet you had a great time at lunch. I enjoyed seeing your pictures and reading about your trip. You sure packed a lot of fun stuff into 4 days. I especially liked looking at the food LOL!

Your daughter doesn't travel light, does she? :-)

Thank you, Everybody! I wish I could say it REALLY looks that good, but it is selective photography, honest. Oh, well...at least I have something to SELECT from, eh? I am trying to build up my supply of coleus cuttings so I have some to trade. Will keep you all posted in that regard. Felix, that red-orange flower is Mexican sunflower (tithonia rotundiflora). It is related to the sunflower tree (tithonia grandiflora) and is a great butterfly plant. I have lots of volunteers from a bed of them I planted a couple of years ago. Wow, Suzanne, what beautiful photos! What kind of camera is it? I need a new camera soon. Just ordered a new computer from Dell, though. I'm glad it's on it's way. I think about you all every day, so I don't know why I don't come by more. I guess I keep intending to write more and end up writing none because I don't take the time to write more, whatever sense that makes. Dear BJ, thanks so much for thinking of me and sending me a family update and pics! I was happy to hear from you! I even got so far as writing a note back and then I wasn't sure about the address, so here it still sits. I'm making progress in Second Life, and Myst Online - Uru is ending again. Guess they still couldn't make the finances stretch. Today a couple of Uru refugees came and visited me at my SL island. I was going to wait to post til I could post some pics, but it doesn't seem to be happening, so here I am without pics. My younger son is getting into virtual world programming and just took a job with a company called Soul Star or Soulstar, not sure which. They have a tool for creating virtual worlds and he is going to help them debug it. Part of my problem with posting is that I try to do more than I realistically can, and then things don't get done. I guess I've pretty much always been like that. Still staying as much as I can with low carb. It seems the way for me, and lots of vegies, like spinach, lettuch, parsley, zucchini, etc. Money still is short, especially since I spend it on paints, books, music, second life, etc. instead of clothes and food :) At least I pay rent, utilities, phone and internet, lol. I hope everyone is doing okay. Dave's been telling me how cold it's been in WI. Strange that isn't a part of my life anymore. I'll try to come back soon and post pics so y'all will know what I do with my days. I'm exhibiting in SL now and hoping to make enough money to at least cover what I'm spending. That's about what I do in FL, too. Oddly, I tend to stay away from people, even though I like people. I guess we all have some conflicting characteristics in us. Take care and I'll be back. :) Amy

Hi LL and all.............Spent a quiet weekend......ate pretty good no serious binging or any for that matter but I was up 1.8 this morning...kinda discouraging since I have really been getting the treadmill work in......... I need to work on the smiling too...people in my area are big in that department but I've been kinda glum lately.....not feeling my best.... Hope everyone works hard and eats well..I am going to concentrate on this 1.8 pounds...

We are having a great one right now....bit thunder an lightening...was talking to a lady here in the rv park an she said there are 4 major hurricanes predicted this yr. for the area an one supposed to hit where we are....I am not scared though we have helped my sissy an her family evecuate from Rita an at least on hurricanes you have lots of prep time to leave.....unlike the tornados we get....Stacy

I know Flamingo is short, but if you don't mind my asking -- How tall are you?

I am amazed by your pictures. I don't think any one of you have changed in 10 years!

I am NOT short! I am average height, 5'4"! Sheesh, can I help it if they all took my Flintstones when we were kids?

Here's my photo- I like this one, it's muzzy! I'm standing on tip-toe here.

It was great to see you and your family, Lydia and I thought you were acting perfectly normal, considering it was so hot and you'd been so busy. And not only did I get a great meal, it was FREE! They treated me again, I tried to pay my own way but her sweet hubby (who said as I was leaving "it was nice to meet you", roflmao, we've met about 6 times now) wouldn't let me pay for my own delicious chicken salad lunch. Man, that was good. It had onions, apples, pecans, craisins, chicken, a touch of curry, on these great crispy pita bread/cracker thing.... Yum!

I had a great time. Thank you again for the great charm squares you brought me, I love 'em! (Hey, check out the right way to use your pretzel holder, willya? lol In my shop, I have some photos....)

We always have fun when we get together. We do have a lot in common, even if I AM the elder sister!

Judy, I'm 5'10". My daughter used to have a 6'8" boyfriend... he was the only person that made me feel short. :-)

Gardenspice, I believe Jen is doing some remodeling at her house. I hope she posts some pictures when she is done!

Flamey, I am 5'4" so I guess you aren't short after all.

Hey Mingo! No fair... why did you get to stand next to the Sugar sign! lol

Now I see how the pretzel holder/coosie works! I thought it was kind of weird that the pretty blue ribbon was next to the outside of the cup. You gotta give me a picture with your creations next time! This brain doesn't always work 100%. haha..

Joann, why don't you use the picture of all 3 of us (if the others approve)?
