How could I have left out Cary Grant!! Not only was he as handsome as the day is long but he was incredibly funny, too. I watched (for the umpteenth time) "Bringing Up Baby" last night with CG and Katherine Hepburn. Hilarious!

Some of you may think I'm nuts, but I've always had a crush on Joaquin Phoenix (he played Johnny Cash in Walk the Line). Something about those eyes. I think I read something a while back about him having some sort of meltdown though.
I guess we're going on mostly looks since it's hard to know a famous person's REAL personality and selflessness, without knowing them personally...

Rock Hudson was absolutely GORGEOUS. In my opinion, he was probably the most handsome male actor that there's ever been.

Others that I like the looks of - Kevin Costner (he has that everyman/neighbor/friend look about him but he's still cute)

I loved Robert Mitchum, certainly not handsome in a conventional sense but even when I was a little girl and didn't even know what was supposed to be sexy - my favorite old movie was "Thunder Road". The man could drawl out a word or take a puff off his cigarette and I thought he was the epitomy of what a man should sound like and act like.

Patrick Swayze and John Travolta - they both have/had a dancers' grace and esp. in Swayze's case, the good looks to go with it. Although Travolta, to me, was sexy even as Michael, feathers falling out of his coat, as he was dancing to Chain of Fools! LOL

Just thinking of Sean Connery on this thread I had to watch one of his movies, The Rock. I will watch Medicine man this evening if I have time. And I loved him in Finding Forester.

I had a crush on Yul Brenner, too, Glenda. Still do :-) I always preferred Robert Redford over Paul Newman. I totally love Sidney Pointier. That voice makes me melt! But George Clooney tops my list. He's so darned cute!!

Rose, did you see Alan Rickman as the sheriff in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves? When I watched Sense and Sensibility with Rickman, couldn't believe it was the same guy. Quite an actor.

A funny story about Rock Hudson.

My girlfriend/roommate & I decided to attend the premiere in our city of RH's new movie. This was in 1959. Forgot it's name, but it was a drama with the backdrop of the California Wine Country. I think Jean Simmons had the female lead, but don't quote me. We never saw the movie.

Anyway, it was dark when we got to the area of the theater, and there were numerous long black, what we assumed were mostly decoy, limos
circling the block for half an hour. Probably over a dozen.

My girlfriend had her small flash camera with her, figured Rock Hudson was a passenger in one (the windows were all pretty much blacked out & it was winter dark) did a quick ennie-meenie-minnie-moe, ran up to one limo & quickly snapped a picture.

Of course in those days you had to wait for photos to be developed. And we certainly didn't know WHAT would be on the picture given the circumstances.

We opened the photo package a week later, with somewhat trembling hands, & there was ROCK HIMSELF, in the act of lighting a cigarette, sitting between two very burley-looking guys, probably bodyguards.

I managed to locate this girlfriend a few years ago & unforunately she has no idea what ever became of that photo.

Yes I loved him in both of those and he was great in Die Hard too. I just watched him as Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He may only be in a few scenes in that movie but he owns every one of them. I read somewhere that he is the best actor to not have been nominated for an Oscar!

When I was in high school, I thought Jeff Chandler was the best looking man around. He was in old black and white war movies! Tom Selleck replaced him in my heart when Magnum, PI came on TV. I think the next guy to come along was Ioan Gruffudd...he played Horatio Hornblower in that series. He seemed to have the same type of good-guy personality, was a gentleman, full of character and exuded pure sexiness.
My husband is the best of all, though. He has all the physical attributes that turn me on - broad shoulders, strong jaw, big nose, and big hands. Isn't that weird? I know that he will always take care of me. It is just in his DNA.

I think Freddie Prinze Jr, is extremely handsome.

Forgot to add that during my younger years all of my friends and I had a BIG crush on James Darren, from all the Beach party movies. One friend had an 8 X 10 BW photo of him framed and setting on her nightstand. We hated her for it! LOL

Also, Sam Elliot could recite the alphabet for me and I would think that it was wonderful! LOL It's not so much his looks (he's not a big guy) as it is his wonderful, distinctive voice. OOOOh eeeee!

Omar Sharif is way up there! Clark Gable takes my breath away.

From Dances with Wolves, Wind in his Hair. When they are leaving the tribe at the end, he is in the canyon saying good bye. I get goose bumps just thinking of him. Anytime that movie runs and my husband sees it, he'll just wait until that part and blast it through the house. If it's not on and things are a little strained in the house, he'll put the dvd in, fast forward and watch me melt. Oooh. I love it.

lavon46, you just gave me goosebumps and I'm tearing up. My boss is going to think I'm having hot flash but my husband who I work with, knows the look. Same here with the native american blood lines, maybe it's just something we're able to feel. I also have a hard time with the wolf scene. I think I'll have to watch the movie soon, maybe over the upcoming labor day weekend. I'm feeling the Godfather saga as well.

How could I forget country singer, Josh Turner? He was co-host in the last hour of the Today Show this morning...I'm so glad I saw it.

Not only is he easy on the eyes, but he also has such a strong bass singing voice and his deep speaking voice is beyond charming. :)
