Got your message all prepared for next Sunday? I hope I don't miss hearing you this time. I was really disappointed that I was sick the last time.

I know by all the things you bring in that you are very very busy with your veggies. not much spare time left for anything else, I wouldn't think.

heres an idea Ed-go to a hortons and listen to what the kids have to say today-you wont be long coming up with a message after that visit

Thank you very much, Kris. I've had some health problems, but they haven't caused more than minor reductions in what I can do, and thankful every day for that. Good genes, I think. Started to smoke at 15, after a few months liked neither the taste nor the cost - so had sense enough to quit. Daughter, who has dual citizenship, her mother being from Iowa, has spent most of the last 20 years or so in the U.S., most of it in Phoenix, recently moved to the Atlanta area, her husband being from there. She comes up for a few days every few years and said summer of '18 that they'd have to celebrate my 90th during her trip up in Aug.: flew me to Phoenix for my 8oth, ten years ago. At the party, when I said that I'd been rather worried after the announcement, as birthday wasn't till Jan, so figured I didn't dare die in between, or wouldn't be keeping up my end of the bargain, there was some laughter. The old guys at the village church that I attend had a group called "Senior Mens' Coffee Hour" on Thursday mornings, that they renamed the "ROMEOs", as in "Retired Old Men Eating Out", (and wouldn't touch my suggestion that it should be"ROMDOs", as in "Retired Old Men Drinking Out" with a 10-foot pole) give each guy with a birthday that month a cupcake with a candle on top at the meeting. I hold mine at arm's length: if I blow it out, called "blowhard", if not, "bit off more than you could chew, huh?", and laughter whichever way. When the cake came out at the party, the numbers were facing me, but the cameras were on the other side. I was holding the cake at arm's length, and turned it around to have the numbers "89.5" facing the cameras ... ... and gave a sigh of relief: happy to be off the hook! There's nothing wrong with free expression of opinions. Some people get a little to worked up over little things but that's okay with me. So long as comments there, as here, remain non-personal I'm a denizen of the double yellow lines in the middle, I don't have a lot of affection for either of the two major parties nor their leaders. Both sides have plenty to be criticized about and blamed for. Outrage has taken the place of engagement and compromise. Whether justified or not, there were plenty of Republicans who were unhappy with Obama and what happened during those years. And with Clinton. Is anyone more right or more wrong? Maybe, but it doesn't matter, because criticism of the opposition is what rallies supporters. Less so than in countries with parliamentary governments but here too, how the country stays on an straight course is by having periodic changes from one party to another. More extreme things get changed every so often or changed back to how they were before being changed, it's not a bad thing. In the meantime, obsessing over details or events really doesn't do much. Vote for the candidates you like and don't expect them to do much once in office. There are some exceptions, good and bad.

Another great experience just the other day ... was it while I was in hosp.? Don't remember. First word I tried "wares", as often do, or "swear". "R", third position, was green. "A", second, yellow: correct letter, wrong location. Wanted to try "a" at location 1, so what word would I need with "r" as third letter? Where did "acrid" come from ... sliding into my brain? Let's give it a try. First letter was green, also second, and third was green from the start ... and so were 4 and 5! Comment was something like "Magnificent"! And I was pleased with myself: was it once that I'd ever before got it on second try? Don't remember. By far the largest number of winners on the way to 93% success rate for me is the fourth try. ole joyful P.S. I've had a phone with multiple capabilities for just over four years, so do a lot of stuff using it. Having some problems, and the guys where I got it are trying to get me to pitch it and get a better one (pretty well same price). o j

How about showing them how strong Jesus is.
Ask the children how strong Jesus is....Stronger than a toothpick or a nail. If they don't know give one a toothpick and another a nail. Tell them to try to break them and they will see that Jesus is very strong as a nail
and those who do not beleive in Him can easily be broken as a toothpick, but if you beleive in Him , you will become
as strong as the nail.

If there aren't more kids than last Sunday you won't need to wory too much. But I guess you have to tell it to the young at heart adults, don't you? Only 1 young baby sitting in the congregation last week - not many adults either. Summertime, I guess.
