Still smiling from a wonderful day, I had, yesterday, and still celebrating.

Friend brought me 3 lovely wedding cake cupcakes. All gone.

Tomorrow, going for spinach salad with another friend.

That's my day.

And thanks to all the wonderful KT'ers best wishes on my 72nd.

Hope everyone has had a good one, today.

Another scorcher here today. The heat index was 115--same as yesterday. The actual temperature was 95.

We had to go into town so Harry could have more blood taken. We just went yesterday, but they didn't test for everything the P.A. had ask for so we had to go back. Stopped just outside our complex at a little coffee shop and got corned beef sandwiches and potato salad to bring home.

The tropical storm I was hoping would give us a good drenching is going to miss Florida so I guess we'll just keep having this weather. Best to just stay inside and chill!

Glad your birthday was so much fun!

Thanks again to all of you for the kudos, Cindee, the penny bowling balls were just roughed up and covered with pennies. I used liquid nails clear and covered them solid. It took a whole $5.80 worth of pennies. I have done several and just keep something going on all the time to work on when I sit down on my patio fora coffee break. I will glue a few pennies, drink my coffee, enjoy the yard and then get back to whatever else I was working on. The bottle trees have quite a history here in the south and a lot of people used to take broken bottles and glue the pieces around their windows to keep out evil also. But you have to be careful and not break one or it lets all the evil spirits out...oh no! Hard to chase around! LOL

I just love it when the veggies start to produce and I can go outside and pick dinner right in my own garden and eat it just a short while later. I do love stir fry and last year had delicious stir fried beans mostly from my yard long beans. Will have those again this year, I already have the seeds but its too early to start them as yet. Last year I didn't have peppers this year I do. And Zucchini can go in those stir fries too. A nice pepper, bean and sliced zucchini stir fry. Yumm, Yumm. And eggplant can be micowaved and is easy to cook. Some red sauce and maybe a sprinkle of cheeze and dinner is served. Then there is my famous (famous in my own mind) tomato and cucumber salad. Plus fresh tomatoes eaten every way you can think of. I love love tomato sandwiches and never seem to get tired of them. Maybe I will start my cucumbers this weekend. I have lots of seeds and always start some of my own to go with those burpless cucumber seedlongs that I bought.

GET THAT CAMERA THING WORKED OUT, GIRLIE!!! Where's DH? Betcha he can fix it. Everything sounds fabulous. You and KLINGER w/have soooooo much fun playing w/the kiln. I want one, but think I've finally decided to let it go. The dichroic glass I would like to play w/is way too expensive for my stingy self. Then the clay, utensils, molds, glazes etc. - well - it's another black hole to pour my pennies down, so I'll enjoy seeing what y'all make.

I had lots of plans for the day, but then it rained on my parade !! Literally !! So, all I did manage to get done is nothing. I was a total bum. I baked a chicken for supper and tossed together a nice salad. Nothing in mind for dessert, but DH has cheesecake in the frij. All I did was wander out to the garden and then just walked on down the road with the dog. It was rather cool and the rain had made it all so clean looking. I have played around on this machine for a good part of the day. Lots of great recipe sites there are and a million of them too. I didn't even do the dusting and vacuuming that I had intended to do. LOL Oh well, the dirt will be there tomorrow. (unless some magic fairies sneak in during the night). Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be better. Helen

went to mail box and now have to go out and take the green garbage bin to the side of the house.

My sister and I go to a town over 45 minutes away the first of every month to get our 'bulk' of groceries for the month. This is the first I've done it since I had my knee surgery. I am exhausted, but I made it.

Breakfast for:

-female canine that I'm "dogsitting" for a friend.

Rather troubled about the two remaining (of four) last-year's litter. I ran over one last year and found another (the runt) lying dead a couple of months ago, down in tthe yard by the barn.

It took a long time to get close to one of the two remaining, which then decided that it loves/loved to be petted - but only around the place where I feed them. At other times, I can get within a few feet of him, but not touch him. The other one won't get close to me, except that sometimes I can pet it a bit while it's eating.

Both haven't been around for several days, I think that they disappeared at the same time, and I fear that they've met up with misfortune.

Just one older cat left - the mother of the young ones disappeared a few months ago.

Pulled weeds in the garden, began assembling materials to stake tomatoes.

Came here to bug you folks.

And check stocks - big drop in the markets today, both sides of the border ... so I'm "worth-less" today than yesterday ... or last week. Whatever that means.

On return, after it cools down some, will be doing some more in the garden and getting supper for the canine and me.

Need to defrost freezer ... but doubt that I'll do it tonight: need to assemble some boxes to hold the stuff temporarily, first.

I had my yearly check-up today. Blood pressure is great, cholesterol is great, weight is great, EKG was great, weight was great. Doctor was very pleased and I was, too. Then I ran some errands. Stocked up on birthday cards. Seems like half the world was born in August including me! Glad you're still beaming from your Birthday.

I watched Finn for a couple of hours this afternoon. He is so busy crawling around and exploring. After he left I laid down to rest for 30 minutes and woke up over an hour later. I am enjoying the cooler weather today. We even got a good rain. My lawn will green up and my new trees got a good soaking.

Waiting to go to a church council meeting, waiting to see to we are going to be on the thunderstorm watch, making a note to call about getting a copy of some medical work DH had to take to another Dr. for additional evaluation, hoping my son got the drainage tube out from his gallbladder surgery Sat, and wondering why people are so critical all over, and wondering why with so much oil we are producing in this state, why we cannot refine our own gasoline etc-----
