Default mail program?

Do you know how I can change mine to yahoo? It doesn't give me that option. It will only do Windows Live or Outlook express. What do I need to change or add to get more options? I've tried everything I know already.

I wanted yahoo email to come through my Windows e-mail. The tech I talked said you have to have the pay version to do that. He said OE could do it, but our cable doesn't support that and he said it was complicated.

I'm looking at some things on Craigslist but when I click on the sellers link to send them an email, Outlook opens. Jane, Whenever I am on a website where I click on their link to send them an email, my outlook express always opens with their addy after the To: So what I do is: I highlight THEIR address, click copy, and paste it after To: in my separate g-mail web account to write to them from there. I never use my OE to respond to any website when OE pops up. OR------If you have like I do, (my g-mails accessed in my OE) while in Outlook express, I leave as is and just change the OE address of mine to my webmail address as if I am writing from g-mail. alisande, You should find out what is wrong with ie at some point. You can set the default e-mail in the e-mail client it self (outlook 2003) so look in there for settings. beanwab, Welcome to the garden forum you should have started your own topic no 2 topics are ever the same---What do you use for email outlook express? I guess I should have said, Windows Live Mail; is it a different program ? Anyway, there is no "file" area that I can find. It is a very busy address type bar at the top of the program and very confusing. I think I may have done it, but in the mean time, I lost all of the mail in my in box on my server. ..........very frustrating. Windows Live mail does NOT want one to navigate away from their program and makes it very difficult to not make them the default mail program. salbwil

Making AOL E-mail As Default

Just browsing around tonight and noticed there were computer forums here. I use AOL thought I would tell you it can be done as I have tried this and it works fine. Read the link I posted and it will tell you what program to download. It's for gmail but when you install it you will have the option to pick AOL from the list. and that's it. Then when you are online and click somewhere to email a site it will bring up a filled in AOL mail form from aol.com. I am guessing though you have to make sure you leave aol.com logged in all the time and do not sign out. I was helping someone once make yahoo.com the default mail in firefox by using the malto code or what ever it is and stumbled upon this so thought I would try it and file it away for reference in case someone needed to know that. Kay I tried both of them today, it doesn't have the yahoo in my programs, its not a option :^(.

Some of the servers (and I was notified one of my emails) is blocking off and on Yahoo and Hot Mail due to the amount of spam coming thru. I am not sure how that works as I have hotmail for some of my stuff, but not Yahoo. Will have to go back and read it again. Am confused, but that for me is normal.

I'm using Mozilla's ThunderBird and like it. (It was written by the same crew who wrote the original Netscape and has features similar to Netscape.) ThunderBird is available as free a download, but you are on your own for installation and setup. However, instructions are avialble. Once the parameters are set, it runs as well as any others and will interface with a spell checker. You can download email from more than one ISP after setting up a profile for each ISP.
