Fixing to take a nap cause it's that time!

Tried out a new restaurant: IzzoâÂÂs Illegal Burrito

Had a cheese and seasoned pulled pork quesadilla on a spinach tortillia. Delicious! Way too much so I left a few bites. I'll go there again!

No one is going out here. I had a big day with all of my kids. Terri fixed lunch for us. After eating we picked up apples and then they found the peach tree was ripe so I came home with a bucket of peaches along with all the apples we picked up. I plan on freezing peaches tomorrow. I was ready for a quick supper so it was just a couple of hot dogs for me.

Lunch was Bow ties Alfredo, salad like the Olive Garden's, bread sticks, banana and strawberries in strawberry glaze and two kinds of cake. I did not eat any cake. Everything tasted very good. The 6 of us had an enjoyable time together. Randy did not stay to pick up apples. Alyssa had fun picking up apples but more fun picking the little yellow peaches and putting them in the bucket.

Now I feel like I am going to head up to my room and hope to rest the rest of the night.

I made porcupine balls to go over brown rice. Added a side of steamed corn.

We had cloudy/rainy weather for most of last 2 days. Now the sun is shining.

Dinner will be pizza..
Kellan will learn how to make pizza dough tonight. It's one of his fav things to eat..so I figure he should learn how easy it is to make. Might be the one "meal" he'll be able to cook some day..(he thinks the microwave was created just for him.) lol
The other two boys know their way around the kitchen..he's never been interested..

Weekend...um...Football...Kamren has a double game set out of town..first game day of the season. Dad will join his team in the am at their time slot for the annual car wash fundraiser, before we leave.

Sunday..Kamren's teams turn at the car wash..I will not be at either car wash time slot...lol...

So the time we are home this weekend..I will be in the garden or in the kitchen..or on the deck..catching more Vitamin D...or all three things is probably closer to the truth..

Oh Patti here's a recipe for you.

Cinnamon Cream Biscuits

Set the oven to 425F.
Combine 2 cups of flour with 1T of brown sugar, 1/2t salt, 2t of baking powder. Mix well, breaking up the brown sugar if needed.

Stir in 1 1/2 c of cream with a fork, when mostly together put out on the counter(lightly floured if you have a sticky surface) and knead a few times to incorporate all the dry bits. Pat into a 9" square. Cut into 9 squares.
In a small bowl have 1/2c sugar a big T of cinnamon mixed together. Dust both sides of the squares with the cinnamon sugar. Put them into a buttered 9" square pan. Make them fit. Bake at 425F until puffed and baked through, about 12-14 min. Pull out of the oven.

Mix 1/2c cream with 1/2c or so powdered sugar and a good glug of vanilla. You'll want a thick but pourable icing, so adjust the sugar as needed.

Pour half over the hot biscuits..wait about ten minutes, (it will mostly soak in), then pour over the rest.

Scoop out the pieces with a spatuala and eat warm with a fork.

Kellan loves the leftovers slighlty rewarmed in the micro. (Lol suprise!)

I picked up some Italian sausage today, both sweet and hot. I'm making stuffed zucchini boats with a side of pasta. The marinara sauce is cooking and it sure smells good!

Patti, the heavy rain was in the Nashville area about 2 1/2 hrs. from us. That is where I will get my knee replacement done. Just lots of rain here. There is no drainage here because of the clay soil so when it rains hard it floods no matter where you live in TN.

Dinner was BLT's, tomatoes from the garden.

I have spaghetti sauce with meat and mushrooms simmering right now so we will be having spaghetti and garlic bread.

Glenda, that sounds like fun--get what you want on you quesa. Do they use extra-large tortillas?

Sue, another day with all the kids. Lunch sounds delicious. I think Terri must take after you--two kinds of cake and a lot of other good food!!

Shirley, all I can say is yum! There's something so comforting in those meatballs and gravy. Glad you got some sunshine today. I always feel better when the sun's out.

Terri, hope Kellan's pizza lesson will give him incentive to get in the kitchen more often :-) At least he won't starve. I don't know how you keep track of everyplaces you're supposed to be and who has what game on which day and what time. Blows my mind!

Georgysmom, I haven't stuffed any zucchini this year. I use a taco-like filling. I think I'd rather make zucchini bread though, come to think of it.

Mary, I'd forgotten about the clay soil in TN!! No wonder there's so many floods. Sure wish I could share those tomatoes :-)

Raven, I can smell the sauce cooking--mmmm! Have you ever frozen cooked spaghetti? I don't know how it'll work, but I just put some leftover in the freezer.

Neighbor brought me some new red potatoes and peas, so I had them in a cream sauce along with meatballs
