Ahh, thank you for asking. He goes home tomorrow and I'm sad. He's a great dog. I've really enjoyed having him here. But...

My mind has been playing some tricks on me. He looks and acts so much like my Dakota, it's been really freaking me out. It's so hard to explain but it's like I'm taken back in time to when she was alive and I feel like I'm reliving those times, like she never left. I get happy then I get a huge amount of grief. So while I've really enjoyed his company and having a dog around, it's also made me really sad. He's just too much like her.

Grant has loved having him around. Camryn really doesn't care much. He's been great with the kids.

Maybe it's time for a puppy, if not another Boxer. mabe from a shelter or rescue? That's a great photo.

Maybe it's time to get another dog but not a boxer since you will always have the comparison to Dakota. He was a special dog to you, but it looks like Grant would like a pal since he remembers having one. You can get purebreds from rescue groups if you don't want a mutt. I have both..mutt and purebred Dachshund..both rescues, both good dogs with kids.

I just love that picture. It's time. Start looking.
