I use a waterproof pencil and then layer a bit of powdered shadow over..usually helps keep it where it's put in the am..

I have a few different ones..but I like Rimmel ..the rest I'd have to look in my make up bag.

I can't help you at all, when I had to quit wearing my contacts and go back to glasses I quit using eyeliners, not because I wanted to but I just couldn't see to apply it. I swear I had it every where but my eyelids. (I am legally blind with out my glasses on) Not a pretty sight.

I did see some advertisement recently though that looked very easy to use, now I just need to remember what it was and where I saw it!

Ok I remember one of them it is by SEPHORA and the way it is made I think would be really easy to hold, it has good reviews too, I would like to try it.

The liquid has a bit of a learning curve but once you master it, it's really fast and easy. I was intimidated by it for years but I finally just went for it and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I do prefer the look of pencil but all of them smudge or disappear.

I tried Almay's new eyeshadow color + primer and it keeps my eye makeup visible all day. Before it would disappear within an hour or two. Actually now that I think about it, their pencil eyeliner is less smudgy than the other ones I've had.

I rarely use eye makeup as I have become sensitive to it. But when I use a liquid eyeliner, it stays put.

Lancome eyeliner stays put. You have to get used to putting it on as it is a liquid. You can remove some easily with a Qtip and water.
I use a pencil for under my eye.

I use Avon Glimmersticks, stays put for me and as it's a sort of waxy propeller pencil, it's easy to use.

Gosh, looks like everyone has something different that they've mastered applying and are happy with....

Here's my routine - Lancôme concealer applied as lid primer, their Effacernes in a squeezable tube, patted on with finger.

I use powdered shadow for eyeliner, it's hard to mess up and stays put for me. (brand I like and use daily is Shu Uemura, many years now). I do a soft line using a blunt tipped lining brush dry, then wet the brush and add a finer line right up against lashes over that.

If we're going someplace in the evening I might touch it up, but for the most part it's there from morning till I take it off at bedtime.

I really like Urban Decay eyeliners. I like all of their products.

I've worn cake eyeliner since I was in high school, and I'm going to be 64 this weekend. It's easy to apply, and stays put. The brand I use is Chanel, but the color I wear has been discontinued. (Which is why, years ago when I found out it was being discontinued, I bought every one that every store within a 25-mile radius had!) Right now, Chanel only has the cake eyeliner in black. But, if you wear black eyeliner, I highly recommend the Chanel cake eyeliner.

Maybelline has eyeliner in a little glass pot, it has a gel like texture, and I find it easy to apply and it stays on for a long time. You control the quantity with your brush so you can start thin, and add as you wish.

Sephora has an eyeliner called Aqua. It's suppose to be waterproof, with very little smudging. Can't tell you if it works but it was recommended to a few days ago for the reason you want it. If you find one that works please post again.

Another vote for Lancôme. They have several eye liner products, and helpful personnel.

I have the same problems and have seriously considered getting it tattooed on.
I really have...a few friends have had it done and it looks great.
It is done by a licensed cosmetologist.

I use Urban Decay pencils (Mildew is my fav-matches my eyes) and that stuff actually takes special cleanser or oil to get off LOL. I don't use it everyday I want my makeup to come off easily w Philosphy Purity. Everyday I use Mally Eye Amplifying Liners they are waterproof sweatproof etc...and come off easliy plus they are soft fat pencils easily handled at 6am LOL that give a smokey look w/o smudging. Do let us know what you try and find, I always try new stuff! ~ liz

I loved Avon Glimmersticks and used them all the time until I discovered Sephora brand waterproof eyeliner. This I love - and the range of colors is wonderful. From the basic black and navy to more fun colors like turquoise and emerald. Doesn't smudge or run, and the retractable pencil applicator makes it very easy to use.

Salgal, I had the tattooing done a bunch of years ago, when I still felt I could use some eyeliner. (I'm much older now, and my big fear is that I would look like a raccoon, so now all I wear is mascara.)

I could choose just how heavy I wanted it to be, but went by a professionals opinion before trusting mine. I was quite pleased with it for as long as it lasted, which was (I'm guessing now) maybe 5 or 6 years.

The important thing is to have someone licensed, as you say, and to make sure everything is scrupulously clean. It didn't hurt at all, by the way.

NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner; pencil liner. If you apply it and let it "dry down" for just a few seconds, it is virtually smudge-proof (it can be smudged, if you smudge it right after applying).

They just came out with a med-dark brown color. It also comes in a bronze-y brown and a black, in addition to more "colorful" colors as well.

Stila Smudge Pots would be a close second (not the sticks, they seemed to dry out, and the caps never stayed on). The Smudge Pots looked really nice on, and held up very, very well. But you have to apply it with a brush, and sometimes takes multiple dips of the brush back into the "pot" to get full coverage (though the nice dark line looked great once you got it).

I find using the pencils (NARS, LTL pencils) to be much quicker, and it holds up just as well.

I use Urban Decay pencil liners and find they generally last most of the day. Doesn't smear either and washes off easily which is weird since the color lasts where I put it. Sometimes, I will put a face primer on my lids to get a smoother application. Pencil is pricey at $18, but, I like it enough to pay the price. Ulta stores will take back used products up to 60 days for full refund if you don't like something. After 60 days, credit only.
