I suppose someone might possibly find this offensive

So if you're very sensitive to language (or whatever) you might want to pass this by. But I thought it was very clever and very funny.

can someone tell me what might be wrong with hydrangea?

Novice, if your soil is alkaline, your hydrangea is going to bloom PINK! You can add something to the soil to make it more acidic (causing BLUE flowers) but so far, I am in the mid-south area and I've always had blue flowers on my hydrangeas that I plant outside. It's possible a rabbit is nibbling at the hydrangea leaves if it's only down low. When my hydrangeas start to bloom, the buds are a cream color. As they open the blue color fills in. So that may be why your buds are rust color (going to be pink when fully open) Good luck. Maybe the link below will help you out! Here is a link that might be useful: About hydrangeas

Catharine, that why I just stick with the post office and never use UPS. They broke a couple of lamps for my boss, a coffee pot for the office, several items from various places for me including a birthday gift for my Stepmother from Pfaltzgraf. Nope, I stick with the Post Office, they can get a dozen eggs to NYC by priority mail without breaking them, I've had much better luck with them than with UPS, although they do take longer sometimes. Natal, I find it very interesting that you call ME out for use of a word in reference to MYSELF instead of one of the several other people in this thread who have used the same word to describe other people in a more negative fashion. Yes, I do call myself a redneck, in the same sense as comedian Jeff Foxworthy's "You Might Be A Redneck If..." (which fits most of my family to a T, and me too, to a level that many of you would find rather surprising). There's a great deal of his material on YouTube too, just put "Foxworthy" in the search box. For many years I was very ashamed of my background and lower-class family - who do quite gleefully refer to themselves as "rednecks" - until I decided to accept them and join others in reclaiming the word with humor and affection. (Contrary to popular belief, rednecks are not confined to the Southern US.) Many ethnic groups are now using normally-pejorative slurs as humorous in-group terms - see Carlos Mencia's use of the word "beaner" to refer to his Mexican heritage, but a non-Mexican person calling a Mexican a "beaner" would be considered very insulting. That's the point of in-group slang. Several times now you have interpreted tongue-in-cheek comments of mine as being serious ones (and often being rather snotty to me in the process). I shouldn't have to put smileys on everything I say, so perhaps you should just skip my posts.

Possibly a little offensive joke.

Funny joke. Thanks for posting it. I had no idea where it was going either. It's so true, Deedee. Maybe the granite line could be turned into soapstone countertops. Soapstone people are *really* into their countertops. Oh yeah, the marble people too. They can't wait until that patina arrives in the form of etching from glasses and cups, etc. Kim, you should post your joke on the kitchen forum. LOL!

So I get home & look it up...."I'm not a cougar.....I'm a Silver FOX". See how old THAT made me feel....ha ha

Extremely cute and funny.

I hope everyone reads the update on that site.

There is truth in the situation described, even if it is fictionalized.

I hope "Jenny" gets some well-deserved attention and that we see more of her in the future.

It's got a bit of strong language, but not so awful bad.. I've heard lots worse out of some drama queen potty mouths on other boards. (Makes ya wonder if they eat with those same mouths, ick) LOL

I loved it.. and even if it's a hoax, perhaps it should be... so many jerks deserve to be outted like that.

But then I love satire and parody. I have a very warped sense of humor anyway.
