So if you're very sensitive to language (or whatever) you might want to pass this by. But I thought it was very clever and very funny.

Natal, I find it very interesting that you call ME out for use of a word in reference to MYSELF instead of one of the several other people in this thread who have used the same word to describe other people in a more negative fashion. Yes, I do call myself a redneck, in the same sense as comedian Jeff Foxworthy's "You Might Be A Redneck If..." (which fits most of my family to a T, and me too, to a level that many of you would find rather surprising). There's a great deal of his material on YouTube too, just put "Foxworthy" in the search box. For many years I was very ashamed of my background and lower-class family - who do quite gleefully refer to themselves as "rednecks" - until I decided to accept them and join others in reclaiming the word with humor and affection. (Contrary to popular belief, rednecks are not confined to the Southern US.) Many ethnic groups are now using normally-pejorative slurs as humorous in-group terms - see Carlos Mencia's use of the word "beaner" to refer to his Mexican heritage, but a non-Mexican person calling a Mexican a "beaner" would be considered very insulting. That's the point of in-group slang. Several times now you have interpreted tongue-in-cheek comments of mine as being serious ones (and often being rather snotty to me in the process). I shouldn't have to put smileys on everything I say, so perhaps you should just skip my posts.

Yeah, the offensive stuff is getting pretty old. I replied to that post not because it offended me, but for the fact that I thought someone might have a problem I could maybe help with and found that it was just a silly joke. I don't mind jokes and can sob if necessary, but at that time, I was on very slow dial up and it was a pain to open it and then find that it was a joke that had been around since Iowa was a Prairie. "I" wasn't offended, but it wouldn't hurt to put "joke" on the subject line. But...this "might offend some" is getting a little old to me...just my humble opinion. I'm back on high speed now, so that sort of thing wouldn't be a problem for me..but, there are still some on dial up and it can be a pain

This kid (well, adult, as he had just turned 18) made a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake in a fit of anger and is now on the sex offender registry. Sexting Lands Teen on Sex Offender Registry I don't know if this is the same teen as in the article, but many years ago, I was watching a story on GMA where they had a panel of high schoolers talking about social media, sexting, etc. One of the kids in the group explained what happened to him when he sent a nude photo of his girlfriend out to a bunch of people. He talked about how this was going to follow him for the rest of his life as he was required to be on the sex offender registry as a result because it was considered distribution of child pornography (incidentally, the girlfriend had taken the photo herself and sent it to him, but she was not charged with anything). However, not knowing the backstory on this particular case, one might see the boy in this story, who is now in his late 20s, on the sex offender registry for child pornography and make assumptions that he is some sick individual. This thread remained me that I have not looked at the sex offender registry recently to see who is living or working around me. I was absolutely HORRIFIED to see that there is a woman living in my area who was convicted of raping an 11 y/o blind boy while she was a teacher's aide on Long Island. She was 42 at the time, married with two kids. On the registry, it just says 2nd Degree Rape - Person 18 y/o or older has intercourse with Under 15. She has an uncommon name so when I googled her, I quickly found the story. Amazingly b/c she plead guilty she only served 6 months in jail and 10 years on probation. She is no longer on probation (happened more than 10 yrs ago) but she is on the registry. What a sick, sick woman.

GAWD!!!! I LOVE that woman!!!! She "speaks" to me!!! ha ha Thanks for posting that. I was a HOPA for most of my business career. Now I'm JUST old & tired...:0) I wonder if they have a HOPA retirement home? lol

jodi.....I met a girl in my hiking club....she kept saying "We" were cougars....I'm married, wonder what she is talking about, we drove past some guys changing a tire in the middle of the road....she proclaims they're flirting with me...see...??? So I get home & look it up...."I'm not a cougar.....I'm a Silver FOX". See how old THAT made me feel....ha ha

It's got a bit of strong language, but not so awful bad.. I've heard lots worse out of some drama queen potty mouths on other boards. (Makes ya wonder if they eat with those same mouths, ick) LOL

I loved it.. and even if it's a hoax, perhaps it should be... so many jerks deserve to be outted like that.
