Get together with Charlee (couple pics)

My family had their annual reunion last weekend in southern MO and Charlee's dad owns a cabin down there so she met us Saturday night at a restaurant called Stray Dog BBQ (terrible name, but good food). We've met Charlee a couple times before and always have a good time with her. Her and Sissy (cute little dog) also came to the reunion on Sunday.

Charlee and me

Entrance and deck to the loft DH and I stayed in.

It was good to see you Charlee! Hope you had a good trip home. I'll email you later.

Carrie - you gardens are gorgeous. I am just to the east of you but everything here is all browned out from heat and lack of water. We watch those storms develope and hit the Charlotte area but they fizzle out by the time they reach us - the 95 corridor of NC is DRY DRY DRY. ~~sigh~~ this week 95-100 and no rain in sight. I am so discouraged this year but then I see your gardens and I know they can be beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing and giving me hope to press on. Thanks goodness for wintersowing - at least it doesn't break the bank for all that color ..... Lynne

Ever try lighting your palms at night?.couple other pics...

Lights at night do put a different perspective on palms (and other plants). What's also good is just using a flash on plants at night for photos, you get some very interesting effects. You can lose a lot of background clutter. That Encephalartos looks great. Look on the bright side, not only will the plant benefit from being carried back and forth but it'll also be great exercise for you, a win win situation.

Nana: it is indeed gold ribbon and there's miles of it. lol PM: You are so right. I spoke with the vet shortly after when I had a clearer state of mind and he told me given what they found , we would have very shortly been faced with "that decision". Losing him was bad enough, I dont know that I could have handled making the choice. It was hard enough to do that for Loli but I KNEW in my heart she was miserable and not being able to breathe is not quality of life. Today would have been little mans 7th birthday. :( I'm trying to think of him and smile instead of shedding yet more tears. Today is start ramping up creating Christmas day so maybe it'll end up being somewhat productive. Pics eventually... LOL

suzieque, Sissy is my fur kid. There's a picture of her somewhere around here but I don't think we got any of her this weekend. Well, Lydia's dad took one I think. I didn't take any pictures but wish I had.
