My Friday Update

Good Afternoon!! I must say that never in my life have I ever experienced such mean, hateful, judgemental, catty, rude people in my life!! I can't believe how horrible most of you people are!!! It doesn't matter what the post is about...laundry soap, vacation, parties, sick relatives, adopting children..it doesn't matter, most of you will find something nasty to say about it!! Some of you here think that you are experts at EVERYTHING!!!! You don't know everything, so don't act like you do!! I have been coming here for a few yrs, lurking mostly...but most of the time have been terrified of posting for fear of being ridiculed. You have made FW feel like crap for no reason at all!!! If you don't believe her or don't like her or think she is lying....DON'T READ HER POSTS!!!!! No, instead call her out on every single thing that you think doesn't add up!!! Get a life people!!! Really...you have way too much time on your hands to judge and scrutinize everyone, find a hobby! I for one, will never come back here again!!

Do you mean we should all walk in lock step. Not question anything? Take everything for granted? It's a DISCUSSION forum, is it not? Different ideas, different opinions. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. ☺ Pun intended.

Jay, I don't know what's happening in the rest of Oklahoma, but here at our house, very light rain started falling around 3:45 a.m. when the temperature was 36 degrees. Then, as the temperature fell, the rain transitioned, first and briefly to freezing rain, then to sleet which fell for a while, and then to snow, which has been falling for about an hour-and-a-half. Within the last 5 minutes, the flakes have become huge but also have smaller ice pellets mixed in with them. Our temperatures have been hanging right around and just below freezing all morning. The thermometer on the front porch has dropped from 33 degrees, which is what it was when the snow started falling, to 30 degrees, where it has remained for the last 55 minutes. Tim drove home from work in it this morning, but the temps had stayed higher than initially expected in Dallas, so they were getting rain only and nothing frozen. Of course, the further north he drove the worse the weather became. Overall, our forecast is for slightly colder weather and a little more precip over the next couple of days than initially forecast. However, since the freezing rain was very brief, we don't seem to be in danger of having power outages, which is always my primary concern with weather like this. We are likely to lose internet service at some point. The deer are out there eating the deer corn and the wild birds are eating the seed I put out late yesterday evening. The fact that they came out to eat in the snow tells me they think it will last a while. Generally, they stay under cover and wait for the snow to end and then come to the feeding area to eat. I have coffee in the big thermos bottles and a pot of ham bean soup bubbling away on the stove, so I'm ready to feed the firefighters if we have calls today, except I still need to whip up a couple of batches of corn bread muffins to go with the soup. It is going to be a long, boring stretch of cold days, but it certainly won't be as bad as last year's winter weather that wouldn't end. And, as long as the internet and satellite TV are working, we can at least amuse ourselves with them. The snow is pretty, but after about 3 days without sunshine I start getting cabin fever. We had sunshine in great abundance yesterday, so I shouldn't start feeling sun-deprived for another couple of days. Dawn

Sorry, I got home and lets just say I was a little bit out of it. I definately couldn't be an alcoholic or drug addict, I feel so out of it. Let me tell you that it is worse than a c-section, and at least that way you get to take a baby home. I am really sore all over my abdomen and it is nicely bruised. When I went in firt he said I would have no restrictions, little pain and could do what I wanted Baloney, no lifting for 3 days, 3 more days of pumping and no driving. My mom has the younger 3 and my MIL has Rhiannon and they are enjoying time with Grandma and Grandpa. Dan has been big help and watches over me to make sre I don't do so much. I could post some pics if anoyone wants to see. The incissions , I was surprised being laprascopic surgery the ammoun of holes, and the sizes and all the bruising. Other than sitting still it hurts anyway I move. Thank you for all the thoughts, sufloers and prayers, It is going to be some time before I et to feeling better. Just srng my ptty party Stacie

Quick Friday Rant: Part of My Brick Floor Must Be Redone!

    Q

Tibbrix - maybe it's your monitor but there is a definite blue haze evident on the right hand side of the photo. What a disappointment and even if they replace them it's still going to be a delay in finishing the floor. We installed Verde Antique Marble in our bathroom and the painters left rags on the floor that wet with paint thinner. It etched the marble and they were quite unhappy that they had to replace it. It was only three tiles but when they tried to cut them out they chipped the adjacent tiles. We lost about 3 weeks on the project due to their delays. I hope yours is solved sooner and to your complete satisfaction. Good luck. This post was edited by maire_cate on Sun, Mar 2, 14 at 11:13

"Get a life people!!! Really...you have way too much time on your hands to judge and scrutinize everyone, find a hobby! I for one, will never come back here again!!"

I do have many hobbies... one of them being the KT. I'm not a mean girl, a half-empty cup girl, Perry Mason, Unhappy with my life or a nay-sayer. What I am is perceptive and intelligent enough not to believe everything at face value. I'm also not someone who would jump on a bandwagon and unquestioningly believe a story that doesn't ring true. I call them like I see them and because I'm happy with myself, I don't think I'll be changing anytime soon.

lavon that was not directed at you or anyone else on the board, just the brand new poster who comes in lashing out at everyone when she is the new person, whether she is re-registered under a new name :-0 (paying for membership used to solve that problem)or out right new. no one has the right to tell other's to censor themselves here except for the OWNERS of this business, which the posters are not, posters don't even have a membership claim any rights. the posters w/ problems w/ others' here are always new, us oldies know not to get our panties in a wad over something someone said esp. when someone has either asked for advice/opinions or opened up their lives for commentary. i have read and followed the mentioned thread and it didn't really sound mean. if soemone is sensitive to what is said, that's between the original poster and the person who replied and posted, the sensitive person is the one who should keep in check their opinions.

it is very difficult to 'read' posted words but the original post comes thru well LOL ~ liz

Liz, I do appreciate you clarifying stuff for me, and YES sometimes the written word can be taken completely wrong and not at all what the person typing it meant.
I don't know enough about all that has happened so I choose to not have any opinions and I was surprised when I first opened this post, as (like I mentioned) I just thought it was going to be about someone's "day".

LOL...u peeps r too funny!! Thank u lindyluwho for actually being one of the sane people here. Jannie...I could really care less if you like me or not, unlike everyone else here who has to ask the opinion of the "KT" before they use the bathroom, I don't need your approval. And I don't know what anyone is talking about re-registering under a new name, I've had the same name the whole time I've ever been here. Then the lame "you've never given any well wishes, wished anyone a happy bday or anything" R u serious?? LOL I've never been wished a happy bday here either but do u think I sat at home and cried all day about it?? Nope sure didn't! And "pot calling the kettle black"??? Really????? So, if I came on here everyday and pointed out everyones mistakes and acted like a total B*(&^ then the post I made today would be fine because it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary. "Us oldies know how to not get our panties in a wad" yeah right!!! And everyone here can sit and and act like "Oh my gosh, I can't believe she has the nerve to say these things" but don't lie...every single one of you has wanted to say these things but was too scared that you wouldnt be welcome anymore...

Hey matti5... what brand do you use?? I like Jif Extra Crunchy. LOL

It has been my experience that there are drama queens all over the net along with those that fuel their fire by all the undeserved adoration they put out for just for the privelege of being called friend.
If I don't like nor believe what someone is posting, then I usually just scroll on by. As far as God or Jesus is concerned, I see that both are mentioned frequently in this board. I have done so many times on this board and others. But now you do have those that tremble and rail at the mere mention of God or Jesus, but we all know why that is and just smile. Jesus Jesus Jesus.. now go scurry into your little ratholes those that hate to hear the very mention of His name. LOL

Then there are those that if you say you like something, they will somehow make it look as if you are maniacal or fanatical.. and if you say you don't like something, then you are politically incorrect, intolerant or just plain discriminatory.

Ya just cannot please everyone.. so just pick out the folks you wish to play with and ignore the rest. Some just don't know how to play nice, and then some do.

See nothing to it. Nothing to get all stressed over for sure. Been there, done that. Not worth it.

A good HOT "conversation" generally brings everyone out of the woodwork! LOL

Hi Gale! (Good to see you here! Hope all is well!)

This kind of time is like a bunch of Cub Scouts going to a campfire! (I have experience with them) You can count on each one to pick up every stick and twig on the way to the fire. Each one trys to "improve the fire a little, by putting in their 2 cents worth! As they do it becomes more and more FUN. Then out comes the "marshmallows" (that would be new peeps that don't understand what is happening.) Next comes the chocolate bars - they melt (that would be those that cry "foul!") We NEED the graham CRACKERS (that would be the ones who love to throw in all those clever and witty comments.)

It's just a campfire with SOM-MORES! It generally keeps getting hotter until all the cubbies run out of sticks and twigs, and all the garbage has been burned up. The smoke settles in a short while and all is well in the camp!

We all get pretty tired of all the HO-HUM, dull and boring, nothing happening day after day. Everyone just eating up the fun until we all get full and content....
Just watch it happen, if you prefer not to be a part. You can still have fun and accidently learn something in the process.

Teresa, I can honestly say that I've not wanted to post what you've posted. And I'm not lying. You're quite upset - perhaps decaf would help. And, for goodness sake, stop reading if it upsets you as much as it seems to. I'd like to say that we'll miss you, and we probably would've if you'd been a poster here, but you've chosen to not be involved. It's hard to miss you if we didn't know you were here.

Heres my thought on this whole mess at the KT, not that it matters at all, just sharing my thoughts. When I came across this site 10 years ago, (gosh I can't believe its been THAT long now! It says that I signed up in 2002, before I was heatherinohio I'm thinking I was HeatherMae) I was sucked in immediately by the overwhelming warmth and friendliness that was here. It was almost too good to be true. There were always long fun conversations and it was a rare occasion that someone would jump in on one of them and complain about anything at all or say anything hurtful or negative.

Over the years things have changed at the KT. I know that I'm not the only one who has noticed, because I have seen many people mention something along these lines as well. And there have been many KT favorites who have just gone missing. The funny amazing people who touched our hearts with their posts for years.... some of them just up and leave. I can't help but wonder if this change has anything to do with it? Those of us who stick it out are left wondering where our friends have gone. Maybe something was said to them that hurt them one too many times?

I realize that this is an internet forum. I understand that there will be a large variety of personalities that come here. The point is, that at one time ALL of the personalities meshed so perfectly together. I'm not sure what happened to make the KT what it is today, but it is certainly NOT the same. When I think about it too much, it stings a little.

I know that over the years there have been scammers and liars and all of that. So for the KT to have their guard up, isn't a bad thing. I just think that sometimes the people who are innocent and really are just here with a story, get hurt badly and leave.

For YEARS I kept this place a secret. It was my own little haven. Then one day I told Nicki about it. Good grief. You know I love that girl to pieces but so many times I sat here crying wishing so badly that I had never told her about the KT. Things got so crazy.... I remember a few times it was speculated that Nicki and I were the same people. While we are sisters, we couldn't possibly be more different. That is just my own example of how things can get confused and how some people can jump to conclusions. At the same time, I also remember the night she made a new account and got on to stick up for herself. Like I said, it is important to have your guard up.

We will never be able to know who the person on the other end is. We will never know if they are being honest. I like to think that everyone is good, until they prove me wrong. I like to be the kind of person that someone can turn to for a warm embrace in a time of need or a loving compliment when their heart has been broken. I like to praise people on a great idea or a special occasion. During the times when I disagree, I prefer to be the type of person who doesn't say anything at all unless it affects me directly, and someone sharing a story on an internet forum whether it be fact or fiction doesn't affect what happens in my life at all. I try to avoid confrontation and saying things that will hurt some one else, even a little bit. However, that is just me. Trust me, I know that being this way gets you walked on quite a lot.... though I still prefer to live this way. Maybe its somewhat selfish, because it makes ME feel better to live that way. Having said that, so many of the snippy remarks left on various threads leave me sitting here with my mouth open wondering what the whole point was.

I know that the KT isn't MY forum. I do understand the points that have been made about how dull the KT would be if there weren't any conflicting options. However, years ago when Spike was here and he would kick you if you ran your mouth hatefully too many times, this place was a BLAST!

Anyway, I don't plan on going anywhere. I like the KT to much even if it isn't the place it used to be. I will agree with Teresa though. I don't post as often as I would like for fear of the not so friendly responses I might get. I am a chicken. *bawk bawk*

As far as FMW is concerned, I believe her. She has been coming here for years. She has shared with us numerous times about her heartache from not being able to have a baby. I think that a lot of the conflicting posts is not only because this is all new to her, but also because she is trying to be careful with what she puts on the internet. She has never asked for anything more than advice. I hope she continues to post. I did mention to another KTer that this all happened very quickly and that I KNEW Megan would try to get her girls back. I was right. I wish FMW and her family nothing but the best.

I will tell you though, Teresa is NOT crabapple. Again, its hard to know who the people are. I know who Teresa is, because she has been my very favorite friend since the 7th grade. :) I told her about the KT too. Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook will be able to see her there as my friend. I often refer to her as Bestie Jane. Hence the J in TeresaJ_30.

I take people as they present themselves. There are many ongoing stories here that have never been so rudely questioned.

    last modified: 11 years ago

Thank u Heather! And as for the people who are defending FMW being rude?? R U SERIOUS???? Because some people think she should be left alone, we r rude?? I really think its alot more rude to accuse someone of being a liar, giving her a hard time for not posting pics, even though if she did someone would have a fit and talk about the dangers of posting pics on the net...it doesn't matter what her story is, she can't win for losing. And as for all the stupid remarks about me signing up as other people and so on and so on....put the Nancy Drew books away okay??? I am who I am...I don't need to create a false identity to hide behind. And as for the reason I lurked so long is because Heather thought you people were so wonderful and I waited and read and listened and still haven't found out why she could think that. You can keep on acting like the perfect, wonderful, fake people u are, and I hope you have fun w/it. Hopefully the next time someone decides to share details of their life w/everyone they will have a back ground check for you all to look over so they won't have to justify everything. As for me.......MEATHEAD over and out!!!

It saddens me to see the nastiness at my KT home. I've been coming here since shortly after Spike opened the door, and it's a wonderful place. I've made a lot of friends here, and value the friendships. I've even met a number of KT people in person, and lived to tell about it. (I don't believe the rumor that everyone here is an axe murderer.)

Yes, there have been some mean people; yes, there have been some nasty feuds; yes, we have been scammed by some...but what relationship is perfect? I try to avoid the feuds, because life is too short to spend it on negative things.

On the positive side, my KT sisters have gotten me through some really rough times (losing my only child; losing my mother; back surgery), and I will always be grateful for that love and support. This is truly my sanctuary, and I would never share the KT with my real-life family and friends (except now a number of KTers are my real-life family, because I've met them).

I hope everyone will take a deep breath and think about the value of the KT. You have to take the bitter with the sweet, and there's certainly more sweet than bitter at KT.

Bless my KT sisters and brothers.

This is a long comment. Just something that this post brought to mind. It is not to take a side on anything posted here today.

There is a 60+ year old lady in my community that I have known since we were in school together ages ago. She would tell us classmates embellished storeies about things that supposedly happened to her.

We lived in a tightknit community where everyone knew everyone else, so we knew these stories were not true. I do not remember anyone challenging her (I guess we did not want to hurt her feelings). But we did laugh with each other about it behind her back like kids would do.

Of interest is that she still tells us friends the same madeup type stories. Some even look forward to hearing what outlandish tale she will tell next. A stranger would probably believe every word. I have wondered it she believes the stories herself.
