What is Your Refrigerator/Freezer Temp?

I have NO clue what mine is. IÂve read that the refrigerator should be 34Â° F to 42Â° F and the freezer -5Â° F to +6Â° F.

I bought a couple thermometers to check and was wondering the consensuses of the KT.

My fridge is 38-39 degrees... freezer, I have no idea.

The USDA recommends the refrigerator temperature should be 40 or under to prevent food spoilage and the freezer 0 or colder.

Meat in large amounts like that can be composted if you're an experienced and adventurous composter with big enough piles and enough browns to conceal any odors. I would not recommend it for the average household pile. Condiments including dressings, mayo etc., and dairy, don't usually cause me much difficulty. Again make sure to use plenty of browns. And, after a month or so, turn the pile and see how it's doing. If it smells bad (even before that) add more browns. You'll want to get it well composted before it gets warm in the spring!

We have the Thermador 30" fridge and 30" freezer, also not next to one another, and we did the same panels on both. (The first two pictures are of the fridge, closed & opened; the third is of the freezer.)

@dadoes - we unplugged the fridge, removed the plastic Air Duct (WR17X11891) so we could see the Evaporator Fan Blade (WR60X10204). Then we plugged it back and we could see the fan was not moving. I think this proves that there is something wrong with the Evaporator Fan Motor (WR60X31522) and we need to get a new one. Funny thing is that we had replaced this last November and it already gave out. We also removed the Evaporator Cover Panel to look at the coil. There was frost on the top portion of the coil which I think further proves that the Evaporator Fan Motor is not turning the Fan Blade which is the root of the issue. Ordered a new Evaporator Fan Motor which should be coming in a few days. For now we aren't going to replace the Styrofoam Air Duct (WR02X20092) because upon visual inspection, it looks like air is moving to fresh food section and there is no obstruction. Hopefully this all works - will update next week. @dadoes again THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

My refrigerator is set at 37 degrees...freezer is set at 0 degrees. These are the recommended settings for my refrigerator and freezer.

I have a thermometer in the freezer; it's zero or a tad below. (You have to let a pint of Ben & Jerry's sit out for a couple minutes before you can dish it out.)

I haven't tested the fridge side for awhile, but it's probably about 35F. (I'm going to move the thermometer there now and find out. Should do that from time to time.) I think it's OK because our milk and half & half keep well.

Freezer is set at 0 degrees

I have a brand-new GE Profile French door/bottom freezer 20.8 cf refrigerator. So far, so good!

I bought a freezer/refrigerator thermometer, and the recommended zones for each are as follows:

Refrigerator should be 35 to 45 degrees

Freezer should be -10 to 5 degrees

I don't know what the current temps are in the fridge or freezer; but I do know that the milk is super cold (just the way we like it), and the stuff in the freezer is rock solid.

I do know that the temp in both wine cellars is exactly 58Âº though, because they both have digital displays.
