Ah, Phyllis. I sure hope your surgery goes well. Will you have computer access? I hope you'll be able to check in with us. Besides, two weeks without a computer would just be disastrous for me. I'd need a 12-point program, I'm afraid. I'll keep you in my thoughts and pray for a speedy recovery.

We should get together and compare hips! My first was easier and I think done better than the second, only three years later, and by the same surgeon. I hoping I don't have to do the knees! Hips only have to move forward and back but knees...all kinds of motions. What kind of surgery are you having? Do you tolerate pain meds well? Keep thinking how nice it will be, eventually, to be able to USE that knee without pain.

I haven't had hip replacement but did have knee replacement 5 years ago. I can't help but think hip replacement is the worst of it. You'll do great. Just do the therapy (but you know that). Take your computer and keep in touch. We expect regular updates. (((Phyllis)))

Eva tx just recently had hers done--she could tell you anything you need to know. My sister had 1 done in June and DH's cousin had both done in July. I had lunch w/ both of them today and they compared scars. LOL

Good luck with your surgery. Everyone is different in their recovery. I have had one done and need the other one done. I don't have any advice to give you, just will send a prayer your way.

I can tell in your voice (isn't that a roit!) that you are getting tired of this stuff. Just think, soon you will have all these new parts, you could almost sneak up on someone w/o any squeeks to warn them!

My sister felt so much better after having both her hips replaced years ago and I will be in the market for a knee replacement in the future.

I had a hip replacement 7 years ago. I broke my left hip due to osteoporosis. Because my bones were so bad at the time, I couldn't put any weight on that leg for 6 weeks. After I was walking on both legs, I developed what they called Arthritis in my right knee. The doctor put my name in for physiotherapy. I started taking Glucosamine--3 pills a day--and before the month was up the pain was gone. I only went for one physio treatment. I continue to take Glucosamine and the pain has never returned.

By the way with medication and 1500 mg calcium and 2000 IU of vitamin D daily my bones have improved greatly
