Oooh, I can't wait for Laundry Rooms! (You'll see why.)

Meanwhile, here's my dining area. It's part of an open area that includes the kitchen. These pics have been seen before at the KT, but here they are again.

I photographed the wine rack when I first got it. Today it is full-to-overflowing (and has collected a bunch of stuff on top).

I eliminated my DR. It didn't seem practical, since I only use the room on Holidays. I made a sitting area there in the background. We eat at the snack bar.

If we have a huge sitdown we bring in our 10' folding table and chairs.

My house is kinda a "fun" house with wacky decor.

Looking in from the hallway (yes I have a giraffe, LOL). Ignore the paper by the chair in the corner, that's for backdrops when I take set-up photos. I also need art work for the left wall. That's the neighbour's house next door, I live on a small city lot but we have a nice back garden and the houses behind us are not close at all:

We are in the middle of a home remodel, we're waiting for our son to move out (which will be soon I hope) so I can move my office, which is where our formal dining room is, to his bedroom.

For now all we have is a small counter height dining set just off the kitchen. The shoji screens are in front of the windows because we're going to have new windows/sliding door and coverings installed, just haven't quite gotten to that yet.

Well, Judy, you could have warned me, but alas, the dining room looks better than the kitchen. Not sure, what I will do about the utility room, cause I will be in Tulsa for the next three days.

Thanks Gayle, but I have to admit that I didn't pick out the colours. When we were having the house built we used our contractor's interior designer to pick them out for us. She matched them to our furniture and tastes. I love the colours she chose.

Here is ours. It's hideously messy and pretty plain looking because I am in the midst of unpacking. Please excuse the boxes and clutter...and I see Jason has draped his shirts on the back of the computer chair again. And I didn't notice. LOL

The second picture is a covered sundeck that opens off of the dining room. There are a few empty boxes in there now as well as my houseplants. :)

Isn't my table awesome? I got it at the antique store. It seats eight comfortably. I LOVE it! The chairs are from our card table set though. I plan to buy random chairs at the antique store and paint them fun colours.

Thanks Angela! I fell in love when I saw it. It also has a large bench the same length as the table. You can't really see it in the picture, but it's between the table and the wall.

This room needs color. I just can't decide what color.

ronm80: I went back to the kitchen thread because there was a wall color that I thought would look great in your dining room. Guess what? It was your kitchen...LOL! Have you thought of using it or a variation of it in your DR?
There's a paint color that folks on the Home Decoration forum are crazy about. It's a Restoration Hardware color called Silver Sage. Another brand or two have a similar color. Give them a shout, if you're interested.

Here's our dining room. The one indoors. We eat outside on the deck most evenings if it's nice.

Oh, this is fun! Here's our dining area- from behind the island in the kitchen. You can see our miniature art collection there. I am so ready for a new chandelier, though. I'm fed up to my eyeballs with cleaning that thing.

Woody just left this morning to go hunting. This is the first time that table's been cleaned off in a long time! I should dress it up but I'm enjoying just seeing a cleared off surface.
