Wake Up for Breakfast

Today I went to the diner for my usual cup of Sunday morning coffee. I'm a regular there. I looked at the menu and saw "Three Meats and Pancakes or Waffles" listed. Sounded good, and I was hungry. But I didn't order it. I have all the ingredients at home- frozen waffles, brown and serve sausage, bacon and ham. I fried the ham in butter, fried the sausages, fried the bacon, all in one griddle. Now they're in the oven on "keep warm" setting (about 250 degrees). I'm just waiting for DH to wake up and join me. Wanna join us?

Got any brown bread, bacon and pb? I would love some.

Headed to WalMart early cause it's tax free day for school supplies, and I gotta get in and out before the crowd hits.

Hate that I can't wait until tomorrow, but I gotta.

Sounds good to me but DH made us some scrambled eggs and bacon sandwiches on English muffins. That was good, too, especially since I didn't have to cook!

I love sleeping. When I worked I was up by 6:45 to get to work by 8:30 (40 minute commute). Now that I am retired I get up anywhere between 7:30 and 10. Very rarely 10! The usual time is 8. Lately I have been sleeping like a rock. Last night I slept nine hours straight through. I usually have one potty break a night, but not last night. I love waking up and thinking that I can just take my time and roll over and snooze if I want to, especially in cold weather. My gosh, you all are early birds. What time to you go to bed in order to be up at 4:30?? I go to bed at 10:30 and read until 11:30.

You might have been almost there with the 2.5 hours of crying. He has tested your limits and ultimately got what he wanted. "In the morning, when he calls for mommy, he wants to continue sleeping in our bed... simple. He sleeps until 7:00am with no problem, and does not request anything." DD did this for a while. I think an hour and a half was the maximum time she cried. Then of course she tested us for a few days after that, but it was halfhearted crying. If you have gone back to taking him out of bed when he calls it will be extra tough to try to leave him in again. Expect 2.5 hours or more of crying, because he knows he can do it. If you think you can put up with this for a week or so he should stop. I hope I don't sound heard-hearted. I really just think it will be easier to tolerate, deal with , and stop his waking and hollering now, than trying to control it when you also have a new baby that is waking and crying. Good luck!

We all share a house together with a big backyard (actually, it's going on the south side of the house, where it's not very big, but big enough to put a greenhouse there (I'm thinking a 6x8 or 8x8). The move is working out slowly but surely. Back to work tomorrow (working three days a week as a dishwasher at a local retirement community-9 to 10 hour days however, but I like it; I also take residents their lunch and dinner orders who want to eat in their apartments). we ate early for us...fixed leftover potatoes from take out, (broasted) added eggs and bit of cheese and scrambled...served with salsa and the best sour dough toast...if you ever shop at costco, try it...oh forgot the side of turkey bacon....

Little too much meat for breakfast for me.

We'd been to the Amish Market yesterday, so we just had a donut each, from there.

Too hot to cook or eat fried meat here, anyway. It was 85 when I got up, with 80+% humidity. They're promising us thunderstorms, but I'm doubtful--it's bright and sunny.

Sunday is always O.J., bacon, eggs, coffee cake or muffins, and coffee -- and the Sunday paper. Other mornings we just have just cereal w/fruit. Our Westie *loves* Sunday! He gets to lick plates before they go into the dishwasher.

Glenda, our tax free days were Friday and Saturday and just applied to clothing and shoes. That sure helps people that are buying school clothes.

I am a little late for your yummy sounding breakfast. I opened up a can of Grand's biscuits, made a large indention in the center and filled it with cherry pie filling and baked them. When baked I drizzled some white icing on the top. I ate one as I had a big church meal at noon today. The church meal was so good, now I am ready for a nap!

Linda, ours was yesterday and today.

Glad I got to WalMart early and beat the afternoon crowd.
