I'm with you on the Mom Jeans. I can't stand the low rise ones....doesn't look good to me when people's behind and underwear are showing.

I wear "Not Your Daughter's Jeans" which is another way to say "Mom" jeans as far as I'm concerned. At $100+ a pop, my daughter couldn't afford them anyhow. LOL

They are high rise and *extremely* comfortable. Never had a pair of jeans fit like the NYDJ jeans. Ever.

I like the midrise. They seem to be more comfortable for me. Nothing baggy!

I'm like luann...I prefer the lowrise. I have the smaller waist, bigger hip thing going too so maybe that's the reason. I've never really liked wearing jeans until the low rise came into fashion. I think they make my behind look better too! Granted, I'm more middle age.. maybe when I get older I'll change my mind.

I guess I do. What are Mom jeans? Ones that come to your waist? I like pants that fit my body, over the hips, smaller in the waist. The lower rise ones feel like they are falling off. I don't like them at all and shopped long and hard to find pants that fit. Finally found some I like at Lands End. Won't pay $100 for "Not Your Daughter..." But I still think the jeans I wear are stylish enough--they don't look like Sears Roebuck farmers' jeans.

I wear the midrise jeans, but I find even they sometimes leave my underwear showing when I sit down. Maybe I need to get rid of the high rise panties and get some low rise ones?

My DD wears the low rise jeans, but she has a thicker middle and smaller hips. (She is still tiny.. just takes after her Dad's side of the family.) If she were to buy the higher waisted pants, she'd end up with a baggy behind.

I think you need to wear whatever works for your shape.

I love lowrise jeans, they fit me best and are so comfortable. I make sure my tops come down far enough so no one is seeing anything they shouldn't.

When I put on my old jeans that are higher waisted to work out in the yard or cut wood, I feel strangled by them, I don't know how I ever stood them, but that's just me! To each his own.

Are Mom jeans a brand? I'd never heard of them. Most of my jeans come to my waist or nearly. I love Gloria Vanderbilt stretch jeans because they're slim in the hips--and I wish I could find more of a style I bought several years ago. I keep searching eBay....

In winter I also wear Lee Riders and whatever good brands I can find at Salvation Army. One of these is a Jones New York pair that comes up to my waist. I can't think of Jones New York as unfashionable--although it wouldn't matter to me because I'm not in touch with fashion. And since my shirts are never tucked in, I don't imagine people can tell if my jeans are high-rise, mid-rise, low-rise, or no-rise. :-)

Another NYDJ jeans fan here. They look better on me than any jeans I tried and they are so comfortable. I have had them for over a year and they look like new.

I wear Mom Jeans because I have a figure that is disproportionate. My wait is 24 inches and my hips are 39. I can't find tight jeans that fit, man, have I tried! i wear jeans that are gathered at the waist with a tie belt. Not fashionable, but they cover me.

Probably but I don't have to prove anything to anyone except myself....and my criteria is comfort....

I like Lands' End mid-rise, especially in the stretch fabric. They don't pull down when I bend or sit. Best jeans I've ever had and I have 3 pair. I'm 65, and definitely not svelte.

I'm 55, overweight and I wear mid-rise. I wear long enough shirts to cover the behind. Mid-rise are more comfortable on me.

Uh huh....and those with the low-rise jeans....how do you know that you aren't showing a little bit too much on the rear end. LOL Maybe others can see what you can't.

Mom jeans aren't just jeans with a high waist. Their are other fashion no-nos going on with them too.

High waist with a 9" zipper.

Worn way too tight giving camel toe.

Elastic in the back waistband for stretch.

Little pleats in the front to let out tummy pouch.

Puffy pockets.

Tapered legs making butt look huger than it is.

Light or bright blue color.

Shirt worn tucked in.

Mom jeans can make anyone look bad even Jessica Simpson.

I've seen more than I'd ever want showing on low-rise jean users! Thong-wears beware - your low rise jeans show everything and you don't even have to be bending over.

Nope not me. I wear low risers. They fit better, are comfortable and look better on me. Plus mom jeans are aging. I'm only 53! Who wants their clothes to make them look older then they are or feel. I prefer the washed out/lighter colored jeans for everyday wear. Black colored ones if we are going out with friends. NancyLouise

The only time I wear jeans of any kind is if I am in the woods picking raspberries and that probably isn't going to happen much any more. To me they bother my knees. So no jeans here, I put all the jeans that were given to me except one pair, in the rummage sale.

I guess we all need to agree to disagree on this subject. I personally think pants should come up to your waist. I think low rise pants make butts look big. Even when 2 people are the same height their waists may not be since one of them may be short waisted with longer legs or long waisted with shorter legs. I guess that's really when the mid to low rise jeans should be considered. They are not for everyone. And there are plenty of people wearing low rise jeans who shouldn't be.

Those look really nice, Jodi. I can see why you'd like them. I've not seen that brand in any of stores, but I also haven't been clothes shopping in a looooong time.

NYDJ are they all a stretch denim fabric...and if so once they're on ,do the bag out after sitting for a while. Are all their jeans stretch denim or no?

Low rise here. Fit me best. I don't worry about fashion all that much. it's what fits and is comfortable that counts.

The only thing I don't like about NYDJ is they tend to give some a flat butt.

I have a large rear and a smaller waist and I haven't yet found a pair of lower rise jeans that fit me right. I also have a tummy (snort - gut!) and they just don't fit right.

I have a couple of pair of lower rise jeans and Twinkie hates them. Says they make me look bigger than I am.

NYDJs look cute in the photo. I'd sure hate to give that much for a good pair of jeans, though, I'm cheap! LOL

No, I wear my jeans. I get them at CJ Banks. If the ones I get have pockets in the rear, I make sure the pockets set low. That minimizes my fat butt. And my shirts usually come almost to the pockets.

I have always only worn low rise jeans. Back in the day they were really low with a very short zipper.I remember wearing big bell bottoms too. Now I like Old Navy or Gap low risers. I wear bikini underwear but I don't think it's ever been an issue.

I LIVE in jeans. But, I have found a happy medium. I wear high waist jeans that are bootcut and I don't tuck in my shirt. Therefore, they look like stylish jeans, but the they are really comfy.

I actually LIKE mom jeans. I can't STAND to see muffin tops on other people, and I sure don't want any of my own!!!

The jeans I wear are called a contemporary fit. They do sit below the normal waist line. I am short waisted so a lower rise is best for me. Mom jeans would sit just below my bustline! I like the lower rise as long as it's not too low.
It's a personal thing. Whatever fits you best and is most comfortable. Thank goodness we don't all look the same!

Jeans are my favorite clothing, I live in them and usually buy them at my LLBean store. But I am so used to wearing them belted at the waist that I can't get comfortable with any of those that don't come to the waist. I normally wear Polo type shirts and don't tuck them.

Last night I tried on my new Land's End "no waist" jeans (waistband is a smooth extension of the rest of the jeans, for less bulk) and liked them so much I ordered another pair this morning. Sleek and comfortable - and on sale for only $14.99!

You're all gonna think I own a lot of Land's End stock........

With all the different jean styles and human shapes, I doubt any two of us would wear the same exact jeans. I like a midrise and a boot cut (not a wide leg). I work all week (no jeans at work) so I find I only need one or two pairs of jeans in my wardrobe at any given time. I would pay $100 since I get a lot of use out of each pair but I manage to find them for less.

While I wouldn't want to be 'out-of-style', I think it is much worse to wear something that doesn't work for you, just because it's in style. I have huge calves and big feet so even if it were considered the only 'hip' style, you will never find me wearing straight leg jeans, tight around the calf.

I think the MOM jeans are the most unattractive style out there. They're baggy.

I wear mid-rise...primarily because the regular fit is too high for me...they go up past my waist. The top of the band fits just at my waist.

I also wear mid-rise underwear....same length problem, regular are too high.
