What do you Wear When You Garden?
Comments (28)I wear old jeans and t-shirts unsuitable for anything else. I rarely wear shorts as I cannot stand dirt at the back of my knees. Also always a baseball cap. I try to remember the sunscreen too but sometimes forget. I usually carry a bandana around to wipe my eyes if I get sweaty(which I do ). I wear last years hiking boots on my feet and always with socks. My pruners are clipped to my jeans in a holster, my pocket knife in my pocket and a pencil behind my ear. I try not to lose my gloves but it happens often. In fact I lost my right glove in the front yard and my left in the backyard on Sunnday! My mom came home from dinner and found them. I don't need sunglasses, my bifocals have transition lenses. I also use a kneeling pad for my bad knees. I tried the ones you wear but found the straps to be uncomfortable at the backs of my knees. When I worked landscaping for a living 20 years ago I had several sunscreen shirts. They were pricey but very nice. I have since not only aged but also expanded and they went to the goodwill years ago. My neighbors all think I'm a little off anyway when I'm talking to my flowers or out at the crack of dawn pollinating. So it dosen't really matter how I dress.LOL! Comments (19)I've never had a problem with the Lycra blend underwear. It is very comfortable and really hardly ever shows panty lines. What kinds of underwear are you people wearing that show lines, creep, etc? For the few times a panty line may show, I wear a thong...which takes some getting used to (I compare it to a seat belt, hard to get used to but once you do it's not that bad). Regarding panty hose...Sorry, but I've been told by many guys throughout the years that they prefer my legs without hose (and I am not tan by any means). Nowadays, I would wear hose for ultra formal occasions, but generally, and/or unless there's a garter belt involved, I would think many men would be more attracted to bare legs in normal work attire. I really don't like the look or feel of hose even the sheer kind on my legs. Yuk! I'm so glad they aren't in fashion now. I don't think they enhance the look of legs, but rather take something away. You can't see as much of the tone or the highlighted part of the bone line in the calf as well because the hose evens everything out...leaving less definition. And, that definition is the part I think is really sexy on most woman. Obviously, I would guess at a certain age, hose maybe needed and that's fine, but heck, I really don't think that is until way later for most gals. Really, though, if you haven't tried the lycra/spandex blended underwear, give them a try. They work wonderfully on getting rid of the panty lines and creeping experience....See Morewhat shoes do you wear with your jeans?
Comments (25)Yes, they are cool and I am totally cool when I wear them. I wish Boulet still made the same style. From day one they were comfortable, not stiff like most cowboy boots. I have had them for over 10 years - maybe 12 yrs? and just this year the leather is starting to tear over the right toe area. I don't think that is something that can be fixed. But you have to admit, considering I wear them year round, summertime too, that is a good long time for any shoe to last!...See MoreHow old is too old to wear jeans?
Comments (69)You know, I remember when only farmers wore jeans or denim. It was prohibited in high school by our dress code, even. Now they are everywhere! OK, I'm way out of my league here, LOL. I don't have enough clothes to wait weeks between wearings. I used to have office/work clothes and farm clothes and nothing in between. Now I have no use for business suits and that single pair of black pumps that I wore with everything. I'm 5'2" and do not have long legs. I also have a big bust and short waist, no jeans look good on me, they either come up to my ribcage or they fall off my butt (or both, I can't figure out how that works) I hate 'em all but I'm far more likely to go with jeans that feel less awful (none are comfortable) than choose them based on how they look. Since I'm retired my wardrobe now consists of one pair of Carhartt sweat pants, two pairs of dress slacks, one pair of capri pants, half a dozen assorted t shirts, both long and short sleeved, a couple of long sweater/cardigans and a zip up sweatshirt (black) and you have my entire wardrobe. I never wear jewelry other than my wedding ring, I haven't put on a pair of earrings in years, I didn't even wear them to Ashley's wedding. Shoes? I have one pair of black Avia sneakers, one pair of muck boots (also black and not the $100 ones either, the $11 ones from Tractor Supply, goes with everything, even those maroon Carhartt sweatpants), one pair of snow boots, one pair of white flip flops and one pair of black Skecher flats. Although I've been to Chico's, I've never been able to actually spend what they want for clothes, regardless of size. In spite of my completely non-existent fashion sense and my woefully inadequate wardrobe, which I did not realize was woefully inadequate until this very instant, I still don't think you're ever too old to wear jeans, if you want to wear 'em. And yes, I realize that a very large percentage of my woefully inadequate wardrobe is black. I like black, it goes with everything and I don't have to think about matching, I'll wear it until they invent a darker color.... Annie...See MoreUser
