Computer trouble !!

I was having trouble with my computer. So I called little Richard, the 11 year old next door whose bedroom looks like Mission Control, and asked him to come over.

Richard clicked a couple buttons on my computer and solved the problem.

As he walked away, I called after him, "So what was wrong?"

He replied, " It was an ID ten T error."

I didn't want to appear stupid, but nevertheless inquired, "An ID ten error?, Whats that? In case I need to fix it again...."

Richard,grinned, "Haven't you ever heard of ID ten error before?"

"No," I replied.

'Write it down," he said, "and I think you'll figure it out."

So I wrote it down.

Oh wow, that is hilarious. And we thought we were advanced when we got a push button phone. He's really up on his buttons. Little sh!t. LOL

Good One! I guess it is a fairly common term among those who 'help' others. I'm heading over to Computer Help to see how many there have maybe heard of or used the term before.

Per a search it looks like he might have meant ID-Ten-T Error

I order from them every year and they do fine, if not a bit late (in Southern California standards). I remember writing to Richard Fayey in New York in February saying that it was now 80 degrees here and can he ship my scionwood order early, and he replied that yeah he could, but he'd have to tromp through about 3 feet of snow in about a 1-1/2 mile circuit in 8-degree weather just to cut my scionwood, Mr. 80-degrees in February- I wrote back never mind, that's OK. I think I still got them a week or so later.

Pidge, I am in the same situation, little by little I get the information together. I have a long-time pen-pal from snail-mail days and her address was one lost, today I received a card from her in the mail, wondering if all was well with me. So, I shall send her a real letter and then ask her if she'd send me an e-mail and all will be well.

butterfly bushes

The black one could be a Spicebush Swallowtail. I can't tell the difference between those and black swallowtails and I guess some Tiger swallowtails are black too. It helps to have a photo to look at because I sure can't tell anything when they're flying around. I don't think I have any pics of just the whole bush. It's not really all that showy from a distance. It blooms a long time but the blooms can sometimes be sparse and they're always lots of spent flowers on it. My kids and I like the butterflies so I'd grow it just for that reason. I've had some other butterfly bushes that didn't attract as many as this one. I don't know if it's the type or the fact that it's in more sun. I was thinking butterfly bush was one of those "likes poor soil" plants so I just stuck it in the ground and I keep the weeds away with mulch. I've never fertilized it. I do deadhead it a little. GLD - Did you post a photo of the spicebush larva on another forum? I think I remember it only I didn't realize at the time that it was you. lol I saw Pink Delight at Wal-Mart this year and almost picked up another one. The foliage looked different (more gray) than mine so it made me wonder if mine is something else or maybe theirs was mismarked.

It was written correct the first time, but wrong the 2nd time. Still funny.

My son is a techhie ... so I sent this to him. He's fixed many ID Ten T errors for me and DH ... and laughs at us each time!

Thanks for sharing ... I know he's going to love this.

I work in IT, and we refer to it as a PEBKAC error.

Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair.

It is sometimes written as PEBCAK --
