Had a vertigo attack right out of no where. Sat here, at the puter, and all of the sudden I was super queasy. Well, I know, that is how a vertigo attack hits me, even though I hadn't had one in AGES.

Went to the bed, did the vertigo exercises and it is gone now.

How is everyone else doing, that gets them at times?

Hi Moni, sorry to hear you are or were feeling so bad. Sure glad you are doing much better. My biggest complaint is either my knee or my back.

I've only had one true vertigo attack in my life. It was due to an inner ear infection. I tried to get out of bed one morning and kept falling backwards into the bed. When I was finally able to sit up for a minute, I became so nauseated. I had to literally drop down to my knees onto the floor and crawl into my bathroom. I had a phone by my bed, so called my doctor, and my then daughter-in-law to take me in. They gave me a shot. What a relief when it took affect.

So I really can feel for those of you that get them regularly. Once was one too many for me. I'm glad specialized exercises helps you, Moni.

The quality will depend on how correctly and uniformly your lot was mixed. You usually can't go wrong with a long time formulator and theirs is about as proven as it gets.

Sushipup, and Emma, thanks for the responses, as I knew before I wrote there was no "cure" I was hopeful to find out if there would be some exercises to sort of keep the darn thing at bay.I have no idea what brings it on, I flip sides all nite to assure that crystals hopefully stay where they belong, and use the dizziness patch so that I can get around. That is such a nasty life if you can't get something of a handle on it. Seems to come in waves, I can go months without trubble, and then there it is, but I believe is my own fault, I am in the midst of garden cleanup here, and lots of bending with head lower that knees sometimes, that really triggers things, but I want to live a somewhat normal life, so I do keep that ace tucked in my pocket. For those that never have something like this, I surely hope they are grateful it doesn't happen to them Thanks again for the responses, much appreciated, and sooo glad to know I am not alone, is good to stick together. I do try those exercises and doc has given me sheets of stuff to try, but sometimes it lasts longer than I care to have it!!!!!!!!!!

I had it and it's awful. Mine was caused by my high blood pressure pills. I really think the doctor was over medicating me. I've never had so many dizzy spells and trips to the ER as I've had for the past 2 years. I've been telling the doctor how lightheaded I get after taking those pills. So he stopped one and kept me on the other. Well, a little of the veritgo left but not completely, plus my ankles were still swelling up. Finally after have my heart started to race like crazy and my pressure over 210, I went back to ER. They admitted me and gave me a stress test, but they also checked my heart and kidneys. Everything came back good, even my blood work. Now the doctor on call started me on some kind of heart pill that will reduce my heart rate in case it started racing again. So far I'm just taking that pill plus my nexium and I will say I'm almost 98% better. No vertigo, no swelling, no feelings of passing out and no racing heart. I still feel a little panicky at times because I keep waiting for it to start happening again.

My father-in-law had Meniere's disease that caused him to retire a few years early from being a Minister of the Gospel. His specialist told him he had no cure for the condition, but since it seems to be associated with the inner ear, it will reduce with hearing loss, and that is what happened to him. One day when at an airport on his way to a convention, an attack struck him. The airport security was convinced that he was either drunk or high on something and locked him up in the drunk tank, and would not let him out until his wife came to pick him up. He was unable to convince them that he had a medical condition that was the cause. This episode made him consider retiring a few years early.

This is an excellent radio broadcast on the people's pharmacy show on NPR talking about balance disorders. If I recall (I listened it to back in June) it talks about the reasons for vertigo and treatment options. Hope this helps!

I have never suffered from vertigo. Occasionally I've maybe gotten up too quickly and gotten a little dizzy (not in years) but it was just a momentary thing. True vertigo sounds awful. Sure glad you know what to do for it.

I do get them and I also immediately do the Epley maneuver that usually helps me too. It may take doing it a few times but my husband now knows how to help and make sure I don't fall off the bed when doing it.

Glad it stopped your world from spinning LOL
