I have fast forwarded through most of this season because of all the conflict. I don't care about what's his name girlfriend that may have a man living with her in his house. It's more like Real Housewives of Dutch Harbor.

Flamingo, I totally agree with you. I, too, thought that Freddie was a great guy when he was on the Cornelia Marie, but, now I think we saw his true side.

Kim, enough already with the ex-wife sho doesn't want him back. You should contact Bravo and suggest they start a new show called Real Housewives of Dutch Harbor. I would love to see what the wives of all these captains have to say. I bet they are all divorced especially the guy with the long gray hair. He is so mean to his son he is always putting him down. How could they not be divorced except for the captain of the Northwestern, but, he's mean to his brother.

Wow, not a lot of Deadliest Catch fans (or ex-fans) here! I don't think we've missed an episode in years. LOL That could change though, I don't care how dangerous the job is, there's no excuse for some of the captains' behaviors. Keith is a mean bully, his family must be so embarrassed by him. What a jerk.

And Elliot, with his ridiculous too-big, flat brim hats- he looks like a little kid pretending to be a grown up, and he acts like one, too. His ex-wife probably wouldn't go back to him for anything now, since the whole world has seen what a fool he is. And a dangerous captain, too. I can't believe a bank loaned this guy the money for that boat. Bet they want a do-over!

Discovery Channel needs a better line of boats to follow, only 2 or 3 of them are good examples for the young viewers. The others have too much immature drama and lying and cheating and ALL of them have to be bleeped out way too much.

flamingo, that's how they are. These men are married to the sea. They don't like people, only sea water and the thrill of self-supporting life. It's them, the boat, and the ocean. They'll never change. Nor should they. You want something different, it's unlikely to be found on Deadliest Catch. Sig/Edgar and Jonathan/Andy are somewhat different. Some. Sig/Edgar have a business to run. They run the crew hard, but those men are there to make a buck and they make sure they give them the opportunity. The HIllstrands are my kinda guys. Make a little money, have a little fun, working hard. The rest, eh, they're sea captains. Whadya expect?

I have been a fan of Deadliest Catch from the very first show. I fear it's going the way Survivor went this year. Drama, yelling, screaming, fighting. They need to stick with what has worked all these year. Capt. Phil was my favorite. I just loved him. So sad when he died. I hope his boys, at least Josh, can get the Cornelia Marie back. I fear Jake is lost for some years to come. Hopefully he can find his way back before the drugs and alcohol either land him in prison or kill him.

I also liked Freddie. Seems like Freddie has been bitten by the "famous" bug. Now he thinks he's the sh!t. He made a complete @ss of himself the past 2 episodes and I have no respect for him now. Never did like Keith. He's an idiot.

Wild Bill is a jerk also. He wonders why his son doesn't respect him? Are you kidding me? I say you reap what you sow. Get get what you give.

Elliot is trailer trash as far as I'm concerned. Can't stand his voice or his total disregard for his crew.

Still like the Northwestern and the Time Bandit. Jake Anderson could be the new boat/captain next year, possibly. But he's really going to have to stop whining.

They definitely need to find better boats/captains/crews. I know these are tough guys in a tough job. But they are going beyond their norm and "acting" for tv now. Go back to gritty fishermen doing the world's deadliest job, and get away from the drama acting. Get back to what made this show such a hit in the first place.

Why do all these "reality" shows all turn into such drama, yelling, screaming and fighting. Really, I hate to think of all the kids watching those shows on MTV that are the same thing being nasty to each, yelling and fighting. Wow, this is what our America is turning into. So sad.

What do I expect from grown men captaining the crab boats? To be more mature than the average teenage girl in 9th grade, that's what. I know they can do it, they didn't always act quite so stupid, but like someone said, they've let their hair down and are putting on drama for the camera. Sid and Edgar may not get along all the time, but they don't throw hissy fits and act like whiny babies. I want more captains like THEM, not Keith and Elliot. Keith's boat should have been dropped the day he attacked his cameraman for not fixing him a cup of coffee.

Anyone who has to go around all the time talking about how he deserves respect, doesn't get mine.

And more captains like the Hillstrands.

Yes, I like the Hillstrands, too, the 2 brothers co-captain nicely and they are both on board at the same time, which has to be nice for when someone needs some sleep. You can practically watch Sig age during a season, from sheer exhaustion.

Jonathan isn't looking too well these days, though, and that's bothersome. Even Andy is looking not so great, I hope they aren't sick. It is lovely, though, to see 2 family members get along so well. Yes, more captains like them and the Hansons!

Oh, and I'm not crazy about The Bait, the pre-show show they have now. These guys are not hosts or actors, stop trying to be that.

I much preferred After the Catch that they used to have that came on immediately after Deadliest Catch. Mike Rowe hosted the show. He's really good. Anyone remember him in his early days as a show host on QVC? He was funny then too.

I've only seen The Bait once, but next week the guide says that Keith, Elliot and Wild Bill are on the hot seat. :) I bet there will be a lot of attempts at justification. Keith is getting skewered on Facebook. Good!

I like Mike Rowe a lot, but I've never watched QVC. I'm sure he's good at whatever he does.

I keep thinking his ways are gonna catch up to Keith someday. Gonna bite him big time. Do you remember that show where easy going captain Jonathan Hillstrand and Keith get into a physical fight? That was too wonderful! I love that he called him out on national tv. Can't hide then. Excerpt:

"But just minutes into the episode, it was a simmering feud between Time Bandit captain Johnathan Hillstrand and Wizard skipper Keith Colburn that stole the show.

Hillstrand takes exception after a deckhand reveals Colburn all but recruited him at the taproom -- a violation of the skippers' unwritten code. Johnathan pledges to confront Keith at the captains' annual gathering the night before the season opens.

Usually held at a tavern, this year's meeting convened around a burn barrel at an old barge at Dutch Harbor. Hillstrand shows up ready for a fight, calling out captain Colburn almost immediately and going nose-to-nose with him as the other skippers watch.

Hillstrand shoves Colburn on his ass, with captain Phil getting between them after Colburn gets back to his feet. Colburn has never really endeared himself to the show's die-hards, and the reaction of the other captains to Hillstrand's aggression -- they simply stood by and watched, without saying a word -- speaks volumes of captain Keith's standing among his peers.

The camera captures Hillstrand growling, again eyeball-to-eyeball with Colburn, in a parting shot: "Don't even call my boat unless you're (bleeping) sinking."

It's riveting stuff.

The capper comes in a reflective moment by the overmatched Colburn later in the wheelhouse. It comes off as laughable, given the way he toppled like a Weeble Wobble when shoved:

"At the end of the day, I was man enough not to lash out and go back at him."

Yeah. Right. Whatever you say, Keith."

Keith has always struck me as the kid who tried too hard to fit in with the "cool kids". I remember that skirmish and his comment was laughable. Jonathan could wipe the floor with him if he'd wanted to.
