I cut my arm, ended up in the hospital

Last night as I was leaving a coffee and dessert function at church, I stepped outside and fell while carrying a glass dish. My right arm landed on the broken dish and cut it to the bone. It sliced through a small artery. The paramedics used the lights and siren to get me to our local hospital. The ER doc looked at the laceration and said I needed a vascular surgeon so the ambulance took me to Des Moines, about 30 minutes away. An RN rode in the ambulance to help keep my tightly wrapped arm held high. My friend, Helen, also rode along. They had two IVs going and I had to use the bedpan so badly when we arrived. Then they took me to surgery. After surgery when I was all settled in a room, Helen called one of our pastors to come get her. I finally got to come home this afternoon. My arm is in a sling and I can't shower until Tuesday.

I took a Vicoden and am going to bed. I hope this post makes sense.
