I Am Hurting So Bad Tonite..

On my way home from dialysis my hubby called to tell me they took my oldest son to the hospital.He couldnt walk it was that bad .He had a severe kidney infection we were told he has the same thing I have.

I already had my 3 kids when we were told it was in the family.Its killing me...I dont want my kids to go thru all I have.

Tea has to be used right away unless you aerate it by bubbling air through it. The high levels of bacteria will chew on the high levels of organic matter and use up all the oxygen. Then the tea goes anaerobic, smells bad and attracts insects. And if your manure was not already composted, it can have pathogens like e coli which thrive in anaerobic conditions. Not knowing what type of bugs you have there, it is hard to tell, but if they are floating just under the surface, they might be mosquito larvae. They (and most others) will not hurt your plants, but you certainly don't want to be breeding mosquitos. So probably best to use this stuff (dilute and pour it around plants) and start over. Either use it right away or invest in the equipment to aerate it. There are threads here and elsewhere on aerated compost tea to guide you. PS It is generally best to post a new question in a brand new thread, you may get better (more) responses.

Suebot - don't think i'm going to tell you anything that somebody else hasn't said, but since i've had too much experience with deer & rabbits, i figured i'd concur with the remedies that worked for me. i used to live/learned to garden on nantucket and martha's vineyard, where the deer are at least as unreasonably tame and probably more abundant than they are in ct. i've heard stories of people standing 10 ft away from them yelling at them while they chomp on their hydrangea flower buds. one woman i was talking to claimed she saw the deer attacking her dalmation!! anyway, my first thought about your original message was are you sure all damage is due to deer and not rabbits? - when they stand on their hind legs, they can eat quite high - on a couple of my client's properties on the islands, i had more problems with bunnies than deer, especially with my daylilies & echinacea. so, i also found success with the deer away spray products; i can't remember which one i used, but i believe it had garlic & mint in it and i actually liked the way it smelled. the directions said to spray every couple of weeks (??), but i found that i had to spray every couple of days or so & definitely after a rain. it was pretty time consuming. unfortunately, my other success was fencing in the gardens. i just tried to be decorative about it - i used nice cedar posts with caps, bird netting @ 4' high (you can't really see it, so the garden still looks nice), i hung rope along the top of the netting (for a nautical look...). I did throw netting on top of the gardens in the spring until things grew too tall, but i have to admit, the deer hopped in a couple of times (- that would've been a mess i kind of would have liked to see). i now live in maine and have a large cutting garden in my back yard, a good distance from my house and i use the bird netting as the fencing (simply because it was the only fencing i could find that would be high enough in one piece) and it works (doesn't handle snow load, though). i see deer in the back and they walk right around the garden. chipmunks are now my problem. unfortunately, my true feeling is that if the deer want to get to something, they will. sorry to be so lengthy, good luck. just out of curiosity, do you have phlox and is it being eaten - that always gets destroyed the worst for me. -mara

I'm with the rest--whether you have your degree, or are 3 credits short isn't something I'd see as a big deal no matter what. And make no mistake about it--you should be FURIOUS with your husband. HE GAVE YOUR SS # OUT. That's not cool. It's so far and beyond the teeny little infraction of how close you are to graduation that it's mind-boggling. Your husband says he can't trust you? YOU can't trust him on important things. You have no way of knowing, now, how far that # has gotten, and if in years to come you're going to be dealing with identity theft. You need to make sure your husband knows that he is NEVER EVER to hand that number over to anyone, ever, without your permission. I've been married 39 years, to a wonderful man I have always trusted, and who trusts me. To this day, I will not put his SS # on anything or give it to anyone without checking with him first. It's not my place to disseminate that info--it definitely wasn't your husband's place to use it against you. You have some serious issues to handle--probably time to consult with a counselor and your own (not your family) lawyer--you have some potential legal issues here, that need to be properly handled so things don't get worse.

No advice, just wanted to say you are not alone in that type of a mistake. Just a couple weeks ago I took my tea kettle off the left burner (old gas stove with cast iron grids) and moved it to the right like I usually do. Because I cook breakfast on the right and heat water on the left for coffee as I do that. Anyway, I moved the kettle and pulled the porcelain cover down over the burner - like usual. I come back into the kitchen a half hour later and smell something hot. Then I see the big brown scorch mark ontop of the porcelain burner cover. I'd forgotten to turn off the burner when I covered it! Talk about panic. I love my 60yr. old Magic Chef and was sick. Luckily I was able to scour the mark with Zud and then a Magic Eraser and fade the scorch mark. Yes, the cleaners probably scoured off some of the finish along with the brown but it looks much better - still faintly visible - but much better.

Dinkie - he will get through it. There was no way you knew this would happen. No way. Do you think he blames you? No. Ask him. Just ask him. Of course he doesn't blame you. Your his Mom.
He's looking toward you right now to be his support. You have to be strong (no matter how hard it is). Whereever you are right now, just say a little prayer -- ask God to guide you through this -- ask him for help.

Dinkie..maybe it's NOT something that he's inherited. But, of course that's the 1st thing you're going to think of. A lot of people get kidney infections "just because"! I'm adding him to my Prayers right now. YOU are always in my Prayers.

it was as bad as I feared,hes still in hospital,hes on a pain pump,Iv.
How do you explain when they saw all Ive been through all thier lives to them it was because of me.
Life is just getting too hard it really is.
Hes a sweet guy loves his wife so much.They are so happy.now this.

Dinkie, last week my friend celebrated her one yr anniversary of her kidney transplant. Her sister was her gifter. Her father and her grandmother both have the same hereditary kidney disease and her father had a transplant 23 years ago. She has never blamed them for "giving" her this disease. I am sure your son would never blame you. It happens.

I know you feel terrible as any parent would. You want to save your child from pain.

Dink, do you blame your parents for your disease? No, I didn't think so. Just like your son, if he's smart and not petty, won't blame you for what's happening to him. We all inherit medical conditions from our parents, it's just a fact.

My SIL had a kidney transplant, her whole family has kidney disease. It was hard to find a sibling that could be a donor, but one of the 8 qualified. Most of the others were in no shape to help. NONE of them blame their parents.

I hope your son makes a full recovery or gets a transplant so you can stop blaming yourself for something you had no control over. Good luck, sweetie, to the whole family.
