Does anyone else have to double-click?

Starting today I have to double-click the back button to go back to the home page. Just wondering why and whether it's just my computer.

Yep, sometimes three times. Just started today, along with some weird text resizing issues.

It seems OK tonight, but I've had two days of extremely slow opening posts.

Florence, My pages jump - well, roll really up and then down then up again, everytime I load them. Makes dealing with the site very difficult for me. It's also very difficult for me to read since I have problems with adjusting my eyes. Occasionally I get multiple print on websites and I don't ever know why. Usually it goes away if I reboot. I wish the pages would just behave! Carlota

Hi Ingrid My screen looks basically the same as what you describe, in that it starts off in ARF with the list of topics located slightly to right of centre, then when I click on a topic, the text shifts to the left and the sidebar of 'More Discussions' appears on the right. I don't have the problem with text in the list of topics disappearing off to the right, though. It all fits normally, plenty of room... I wonder if everything got out of kilter somehow, while you were trying various things to get the text to a legible size for you? Is the whole thing now/still a bit too large to fit your screen, perhaps? If so, can you reduce it just a little bit more, without the print becoming too tiny again? I think Houzz did increase the text size at one stage, after that first barrage of complaints, so perhaps it would be OK to downsize a bit now?* Alternatively, might it be that your whole screen content shifted over to the right at some stage - mine used to do that sometimes on my old computer, for reasons I never fathomed. I don't suppose there's a grey bar along the bottom you can just shift left a bit, is there? That's all I can think of at the moment... I do hope you can find a way to fix it somehow, soon. It must be very frustrating. *Oh, yes, can you get into 'Settings' on your computer, and increase your font size? Then you might be able to reduce the page (with that F- thing) without making the print too tiny. Good luck! Comtesse :¬)

Thanks for the responses folks - at least I don't feel personally slighted at not being able to read the rest of the pages. Kate, I'm accessing the site by a good old fashioned desktop computer, though mine is an Apple. There is no cache at all on Google Chrome since I only use it for one task at work that has a funky programming that requires Chrome, so there's no history there to clear out. I'm on GW now with Firefox on my desktop computer, and it's still doing the same thing it does on Chrome and Safari. Looks like there's not a simple answer to why some of us are having problems and some are not, since I'm not using anything modern or fancy. I haven't tried to access GW on my phone but the screen is so small I can't fathom any real reading or viewing on the phone for my poor old eyes. Sigh. I was happy that I was able to see and read messages with pictures fine, but only on the first page I guess. I wanted to hurry up and thank everyone for the input before this scrolls to page 2 and I can no longer see it. If anyone from Houzz has an explanation for this I'd be most grateful. There's no point in my trying to start a new post until this resolves for me, since I won't be able to see anything in response unless it's a very recent post. Cynthia

Mike, you mentioned that you could post more than one photo, I've never seen that option or a way to grab several of them. I've only been able to insert one photo at a time, although I've been using the House Photo button (and then dragging my pic into the box) because in the past the Photo button didn't work so I got used to using the alternate way. Just a gripe, I get notifications to my phone, which I did allow thinking it would be for when people comment or like threads, but Houzz has added in their own notifications of sales or design stuff. Me me me me! I was on here tonight and every post I open I have to click twice to get back to the KT! Drives me nuts. I was going to ask DH what is wrong with our computer when he gets home!

I updated my browser (Firefox) and no longer have the font resizing problem but still have to click twice to back out of a post. Three times though seems to be a thing of the past.

It's happening to everyone on all the GW forums. Other websites are fine. I went to the Computer Forum to see what had happened to my mouse settings today and someone had already asked about it. Hopefully they know about it and it will go back to normal--whenever.

I had the clicking problems too, plus weird changes in the punctuation when I posted a message on another GW forum. Didn't have the font size problem though.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Also, every time I open a thread I have to enlarge the font again. And again. And again........

I'm glad to see it's not my computer. Very frustrating.I use Firefox too. it doesn't seem to be a browser problem. Just another GW problem.

I was having to do that through Rogers Yahoo, but I signed out of that and switched to Google Chrome and the problem stopped.

With Opera I don't need to use a back button. I just hit the "Z" key of the keyboard and back I go. No problems with that. Tried the back button a few times out of curiosity and no problems. But then again, Opera is so much more trouble-free than the others I'm not surprised.

Thanks for posting this. I thought it was my computer. I told my husband that something was wrong with the mouse or the computer. He couldn't figure it out. The font got so little I could barely read it . And I have to double click too. I was going to ask here but thought people would think I was nuts.

I seldom use the Back button. I "right click" on a post and choose "open in a new window". Read, reply, then X out and I'm right back on the main page again.
