Walmart carries Wrights thick cut bacon. That's my favorite.

Bacon is cut from a pig. Turkey is to bacon what Velveeta is to cheese. Law should be required to call it Turkey Strip Product.

Pepper Bacon makes really,really good BLTs.

Wegman's has an uncured applewood bacon that's exceptional (their own brand). But then, it's pretty hard to find a bacon I don't like, I'm afraid.

I tried "turkey bacon" once for BLTs and it was very tough. We could hardly bite through the sandwich.

lol wildchild, I feel the same about "chicken fajitas". What part of the chicken do you get the fajita?

I did a image search for the Wright's bacon and that is the one I bought at Walmart, don't know why I thought the brand was Applewood. Next I will try Wright's pepper one.

I think even to this day my sister is a big fan of Velveeta. Never could understand that. But then again she's a braunschweiger (liver sausage) fan too. Never ate that either. Ack! Pthwpppt.. I need to rinse my mouth out with some bacon grease.

I love bacon, but not the honey roasted stuff. I put scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, sliced tomato, lettuce and mayo on toast sandwiches. Umm good.

How about Pig Candy

Bacon (several strips)
Brown Sugar (enough to coat strips of bacon)

Directions

1. Coat uncooked bacon in some dark brown sugar.

2. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until crisp

Put on broiler pan, so grease can drip to bottom of pan.
Turn at least once.

Drain and cool before eating.

we get the real deal when ds1 makes breakfast but since we're already on meds, it's turkey, for now..sigh...

i have a history of colon cancer so can't eat too much pork so i don't buy it often and also can't buy regular bacon because of the nitrites but all the uncured and nitrite free ones i have found are excellent. I am glad they finally are listening to people who want the uncured so we can still enjoy it!! Target has the best selection i have found.

I don't eat much bacon, but I like Turkey bacon too. And I wouldn't live without a box of VELVEETA in my pantry or refrigerator. Oh and just for the record. I like spam too. But I don't eat much beef. It makes my stomach ache for days after if I do. Yep, I am opinionated and quirky, but you just might learn to love me anyway. LOL
Oh and for the record, I really am trying to eat a healthier diet and I don't eat a lot of velveeta nor do I eat much spam anymore. But when you got to have a fried spam fix or a mac n cheese fix. Oh you just got to do it now and then. Gourmet I say, positively gourmet!

helen, my MIL used to make mac and cheese layered with spam. Oh so good.
Never been a velveeta eater, but I have been known to make velveeta fudge! Honest!

Because of dietary considerations, we do not get bacon very often. But I do get a hankering for it on rare occasions, and when I so, I also bring home tomato and lettuce with the bacon, and then, its bacon-lettuce-tomato on toast time!!

However, I consider Canadian Bacon as the top of the line, the real stuff.

How about the Club Crackers wrapped with bacon, topped with parmesan/romano and baked? Haven't tried them yet but I'm thinking during the holidays, the smell of pine tree, Chrismas coookies, lefse and pig crackers ought to make the house seem SO friendly!

OMG! I haven't had bacon in eons. The last Bacon I bought was so disappointing. No one made bacon better than my Dad's Father. Freshly sliced off the pig. Yummo.

Oh and he made Pork Skin also, aka Cracklin.

I'll admit to liking Velveeta for its meltiness on a burger or sandwich. Especially on a grilled "cheese" sandwich. I just don't call it real cheese.

The only turkey I eat is carved right off the roasted bird or at least roasted breast period. I don't even like deli turkey. It has to be real turkey, not shaped and formed.

I won't buy sausage that contains poultry either. I can taste it and it's nasty.

I am just the opposite of Wildchild. I LOVE turkey sausage of all sorts. And turkey hot dogs too. Breakfast sausage, yummmo !! I just gobbled down a nice turkey burger for supper. I think I am so completely addicted to poultry, maybe I should raise my own. But that's work, and I don't do THAT much sweat. LOL

I call Velveeta cheese, and I love the smoothness, and taste and oh the way it melts is heavenly.
