Photobucket problems

After I log on to my album, when I click upload pictures, nothing happens, no hourglass, nothing. anyone else having this prob.?

I don't like photobucket anymore. Too many pop ups and it won't let you see because of them. I use tinypic.com now. Its almost the same but no problems.

VERY strange, indeed. I must admit I'm loath to visit photobucket again, for I can't imagine it was just coincidence that the only 2 times I've gotten that durn antivirus junk was when I was there. I guess, though, I'll have to try it again....glad to hear you didn't have the problem and hope I won't, again, either.

Yup! I noticed a post that was done by Joan_2007 - regarding a pic of a tile asking what IS the tile? Clicked on the link, and yup... no picture... :( I'm on my Mac, and I tried using BOTH Safari AND Firefox - no luck...:( I also tried to look at the same thread "Anyone Recognize This Tile Manufacturer?" - on my PC, and the picture came through very nicely.. Go Figure... It must have something to do with the way my Mac processes (sp?) the graphics... duh-doh!!!!!! Of course - there's also the old "Operator Error" which is prolly what it usually is - operator error on MY part!! HA!! Photobucket and specific computer issues are WAY out from my area of expertise (Natural Stone Slab Applications) - but I think it may be a Mac issue...? kevin BTW - For what it's worth - the tile in question looks (to me) like it's possibly - either a ceramic with the color range of Botticino Classico, or possibly a really light shaded limestone Maybe a Jerusalem Limestone - the picture is hard to scale up to on my PC......

From Photobucket's FAQs: What is Bandwidth? Bandwidth is used when digital content is viewed from a link you posted on another website or sent in an email (e.g., MySpace, eBay, message boards, etc.). Bandwidth is a measure of the number of bytes passed over time via direct linking. It is calculated by adding up the size of each of your images or videos as they are sent from Photobucket. The "Monthly Bandwidth" number is the amount of bandwidth you have used within the last month. The month is determined by the day of the month you registered your account. Example: You have various images of 25K each in size that are viewed by 100 users on your favorite message board in one day. You also have one video of 15000K that is viewed by 10 users in one day. 25K * 100 requests = 2500K (or 2.5MB). 15000K * 10 requests = 150000K (or 150MB). When you add the two together, you have used 152.5MB of bandwidth in one day. Important! Do not confuse bandwidth with your album size. Bandwidth usage is unmetered for Pro accounts, however Photobucket reserves the right to disable direct linking on accounts that use excessive bandwidth or are otherwise abusing the system. To check your current usage, log into your account, click the account options link, and then review your Monthly Bandwidth in the Account Dashboard to the right. Free accounts are allowed 10GB of bandwidth per month, and Pro accounts are unmetered. 10GB is hundreds of thousands of images viewed via direct links, and the value resets each month on the anniversary of the day you registered. My note - remember, regardless of how many 'posts' your thread may have, thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people may have viewed it. GW membership is required only if you want to post. Anyone on the internet can read it.

Susan, I uploaded the pictures from the memorial ride/ghost bike yesterday without any problems.

Did you make some changes on your computer that could cause that?

I have IE, do you recommend getting rid of it? I don't know how to change it.

I, too, have IE and don't know how to change it. I am having problems with PhotoBucket.

All you do is open a different browser. I prefer Opera, and have K-meleon (very similar to Mozilla & Netscape) and Firefox, and it depends on the use as to which I'll use. I have been trying out Chrome too but haven't used it much.

Just install it, and open it up. Set the preferred browser to be your default browser and it'll automatically open that browser when it's needed. Each program has a setting in the preferences to check to see if it's the default browser. Otherwise if you have a file on your machine that is .htm or .html (among others), right click that file and click "open with", choose the browser and check use that program every time.

Also, whenever things act goofy, it's a good idea to do some maintenance. Start by doing a disk cleanup, run a virus scan, malware check, disk check and defrag your hard drive. Oh, and if it acts goofy, reboot. A simple reboot solves a myriad of problems.

IE is on my computer, but I never use it. I understand, you can't delete it?

After reading the glowing reports for firefox here, I downloaded it a few years ago. Never been happier.

Prior to firefox I was using netscape.

I also don't have any problems many others report... and always wonder if they use IE.

Moni, IE can be deleted, but you don't want to!

IE is like the engine in your car. You have to have it. You can research the technology about that if you choose.

I was also using Netscape 'way back when, now I use Firefox, with several of the add-ons. Have none of the problems that so may others have. A simple change to another browser can cure most of them. I tried Opera and didn't care for it. Firefox is extremely good.
