Nope, not Wanda. Here's the real picture. The haircut doesn't look horrible here (at least I don't think it does), but trust me, it's baaaaaad! And now I have a witness, because she saw it in person today. It's Mcmann!!

It's hard to describe what we went through to take this picture with a timer . . . camera balanced on a fence, propped up with a piece of bark. Whew!

Susan and I had a get together today. I guess you could call it the Northeast Pennsylvania KT luncheon. Both of us attended. Actually we were the only 2 that attended. It was a lovely day without any humidity and we were able to dine outside on the patio and enjoy the beautiful afternoon.

I'm sure all of you will agree that Susan is really photogenic! And her hair was absolutely fine. Remember she had mentioned that she had clown tuffs above her ears! Well I can vouch that she looked perfectly presentable. Actually she took the do rag off just before we sat down to lunch and in a very gentlewomanly fashion placed it neatly on her lap.

But I do think the waiter was trying to get her to notice him. He did hover a bit and he even joined in our conversation when we were discussing wood floors and talking about gardening gloves. And he became very enthusiatic when she placed her lunch order and raved about her choice. He was quite pleasant but a little - well- unusual.

It's a great picture of both of you lovely ladies. Thanks for going natural Susan. McMann, it's a pleasure to meet you young lady! Glad you all have a fun visit.

Well, before I ventured out in public to meet Mcmann I operated on my bangs to make them fall better. AND (very important) I tucked the clown puffs behind my ears. But the parts you can't see still look as though the stylist was deranged. Or, more likely, they look as though I'm deranged.

Before you all get excited about the waiter (who was clearly playing up to me as a ploy to attract Mcmann's attention), I have to say he was not exactly Brad Pitt. More like a young, chubby Don Knotts.

Well he did act like a young Don Knots but he looked more like a young and of course chubby Dom DeLouise!

Thank you everyone for your compliments you are all being so nice. It is nice when KT people can get together. We're spending the week at our place in northeast PA so it was only a 30 or so mile drive to met Susan at a restaurant. My husband and I had been cutting logs into rounds for 2 days so I told him I wanted a fun day. The kids come up tonight so tomorrow it's back to firewood duty - we rented a hydraulic log splitter and we're planning on getting 2 or 3 cords of wood split and stacked for the winter.

I feel like the productive country mouse from the children's fable.

The necklace . . . I haunted eBay for quite some time before I found one that I wanted for not very much money. Ron, when is Bigbaby going to show us some of her artwork?

As Mcmann and I were leaving an antique shop, one of the two dirty old men who'd been following us around (I'm guessing they were the waiter's uncles) made some remark about "the gastropod around your neck." I could have retorted, "It takes a gastropod to recognize a gastropod." But growing up in New York City I learned that when strange men make gastropod remarks, the thing to do is smile and walk away.

Ah - but you left out the part where the first dirty old man and his companion were appraising what appeared to be a really old ESSO gas tank on a cart with metal wheels and they were trying to decide which parts were original.

The one fellow remarked to his friend that they should ask your expert opinion since "you looked like you were into grease". What an odd commment or perhaps it was a come-on. The proprietor must have been really bored because it's certainly not a way to win repeat business. But their unusual behavior did cause us a few chuckles as we wandered out the door.

I don't know what he meant, and I don't think I want to know. But based on his question about whether or not my husband and I are speaking, I'll guess it was a really dumb and clumsy come-on. Ugh!

Hey, I forgot to tell you all that Mcmann brought me a pair of these gardening gloves. They're great! I can get a good grip on weeds, even those that have a good grip on the soil. As you might guess, the gloves are no longer clean. :-)
