A young man we know well is part of this reality show. It's starting on July 21 at 10:00 PM on the Discovery Chanel.

It was on yesterday, several back to back episodes. I couldn't pry my oldest from the TV. He's totally into this show. I caught a few bits of it -- it is a neat show.

When I lived in Dallas my neighbor a few houses down were into it. They would have these big hot tub parties at their house and we could hear them all the way at our house. They did not have a fence and we could see straight from our yard to theirs but fortunately they had a lot of hedges. Apparently the hot tub and pool was clothing optional. They traveled all over the country to go to these parties. They invited my next door neighbor who was the house between us, she was divorced and looking for someone so she thought ok. She did not know what was involved! She said she had never seen such a thing in her life and tiptoed back to her house. by the way the gal that owned the party house ended up marrying one of the guys she met there and he was a creep. Definitely not for me! to each their own...

I LOVE the marble. We have been in the house 6 months. I put absolute black granite on the perimeter where the cooktop is and where I do most prepping. The marble is on the island with the sink, dishwasher, and pullout trash/recycle. There are etches all over both sides of the sink. And that is from use just doing dishes and tossing stuff in the trash. Coffee/tea spots wipe up easily and have not stained. I use 50/50 rubbing alcohol/water to wipe the counters. The etches don't bother me at all (I was very worried that they would). The marble is honed and I have to really search for them and the light has to be shining just right to see them. If I were going for a bright white kitchen look and afraid to use marble, I would probably get a white quartz (a white quartz, not a marble look alike quartz), like the picture below (Maria Killam's kitchen). But colonial white and similar granites are really nice too and go well with bright white cabinets. It just depends the look you are trying to achieve and what you can live with maintenance/budget wise. Good luck and post pics when you find your stone! Jasdip, I just have a cheap inside antenna. Some of my friends in the county pick up more stations than I do. I also can't pick up our local ctv station in my living room which I find strange but when I had a television in the bedroom I used to be able to get it a 5 am. I got rid of cable in 2004, my neighbour bought me the analog box and the antenna years before the stations changed and set it up for me. I couldn't believe the all the new stations that appeared. I am in a good location. I am always scanning for new stations. I get better reception and more stations than some of the people i know who are paying for cable or digital and they don't get any of the local Detroit stations. I just think of all that money I didn't give to the cable company haha it now goes to Bell for my internet

mona - I thoroughly enjoyed the show. There was only one aspect of the show that bugged me. Can we discuss it tomorrow so we don't give anything away for west coast viewers?

I liked George a lot but am not sure of the show . I like a lot of "How we solved this problem" things and hope this show works out. It might have been too soon for the bad guys maybe.

George's parents said though the scenarios were staged, the resolutions were truthful in that the participants had to rely on their own skills and abilities to come up with solutions to their problems.
George also said the situation became very real to the participants. He did feel they were fighting to stay alive and it was difficult to resume living in his real world once taping was done.
I could have done without the bad guys last night. Let's see what next week brings.

Yes, I also think it was a bit soon for the bad guys, and it is the staged scenarios that I had a problem with. It was like the show turned from skills and abilities to acting. I mean, all participants had to know there would be no reason to search through the "new-comers" baggage for guns, etc. No reason to want to turn them away, as this -was- staged by the producers of the show. I'm looking forward to next week and plan on putting my silly criticisms on the shelf!
