Hope things went well, for patti, today. (((HUGS patti)))

I had a small group, to play Mexican train, today. Each brought their own sandwich, and I had chips, plus one gal brought snicker doodle cookies, and another cantaloupe cubes to munch on.

Hot and humid, today, so a nice day to sit under the ceiing fan and enjoy ac while we played.

We are getting burgers tonight from our restaurant at the golf course.

I forgot today was an important one for her!!!
Humungous healing thoughts going out to her!

Gorgeous day today but cool for July, which I love. It was down to 48F last nite, and went to 68F today. Love, love it!

Tonite was leftover chicken and rice and a salad. Easy and tasty too.

Patti, thanks for the update, I was beginning to get concerned about you. You seem to be doing well, and handling your restrictions like a trooper! I see you are still a Stouffers fan, like I am, and I also eat a lot of oatmeal. Pureed sounds interesting. I recently found new-to-me frozen foods that are the best ever. I know you are trying to gain weight, but even though many of these are Weight Watchers approved, they are so much better than any others I have been buying, you just might enjoy eating more of them. I like the small size packages and I think pureeing them would be great for you; also the Blending Ins. Keep on keeping on! Sue Here is a link that might be useful: Green Giant

Tuesday..... Lunch - none (couldn't get away from my desk) Dinner - my sweet husband brought me a salad and two slices from a frozen pizza (I still couldn't get away from my desk) Was not a good work day! I did leave to get breakfast at about 8 a.m. but otherwise was working from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. when I was finally able to leave, jump in the shower, then directly into bed! Not a good work day :-( But I sure appreciated that salad and pizza!

murraysmom, the salary v/s cost of living is actually what is tempting me out of this state LOL. for example a job in Huntsville AL is offering almost double the pay of a similiar job in orlando and w/in 1 yr the AL job goes up 10% to 6 figures. i am already planning on spending a bit under $500K on my next house here but for half that i can buy a similiar place in Huntsville AL and get a few acreas, not 1/2 acre lol. it makes it very difficult to not say to my DH just go to Huntsville for 2 yrs yourself...i'll stay here and work part-time and still afford everything here, as i wouldn't have his expenses then :-) i've looked at several other cities where he's been requested for interviews and every one of them stacks up the same way. only problem is that i would be miserable and could probably only put up w/ it for a couple of yrs, even if it was a million $$ a yr. i have been looking for months at housing & taxes from So Cal to boston and for what i will sell my house for i can buy the next house w/ acreage and pool completely outright in most major markets (Dallas, St Louis, Nashville are a few options). housing in orlando in the upper middle class is still amoung the most expensive in this country because there has been very little drop off in demand. that probably is a contributing factor in why i absolutley LOVE FL! i just hope we find a suitable job here...i just hate thinking about how much more pay is out there thou if we leave LOL ~ liz

My three are all full fledge adults. Doesn't change what they get. #1 an ornament--DH makes them now. #2 a crafty thing we can all do as we eat brunch before opening gifts, lego kits are most common. #3 candy- #4 something something; this year an assortment of spatulas DH's company made and the customer pulled out and left a palate. #5 whatever I collect over the year that I find they might find fun, different for each. It's a lot less stress to have a formula/tradition I have found. Happy St. Nicholas Day btw--many of what used to get put in their shoes now shows up in the Christmas stockings.

I have had a busy day so since it is just me tonight, it was smoked sausage links sandwich, pear halves, a cookie and water to drink.

broiling up some nice boneless pork chops sprinkled liberally with Johnny's seasoning salt. He's having leftover fried rice with his, I have plain rice. Some steamed veggies and watermelon.

I was hungry for a grilled steak (very unusual for me), so Robert brought home a couple of nice ribeyes. I'm going to saute a bunch of onions and mushrooms to go with them, and a mixed green salad.

Dinner today was really delicious halibut steaks baked in parchment paper with ginger, green onions and white wine. Also had boiled new potatoes and new green beans. Sister is visiting and she cooked the fish which was quick and easy to prepare.

Thanks, Glenda--sure appreciate it. We left home at 8 this a.m. and didn't get home until 6:30. It was a long day--mostly waiting. I did fine--the picc line is my new BFF.

Now I don't have another appointment until I start radiation Aug. 1. I don't want to think about doctors, sickness or anything but everyday stuff for the next week. What a luxury it will be.

Y'all ate really well--but, then, you always have great meals. Almost for got. Stopped at Wendy's. I had a junior cheeseburger and Harry got the new pretzel bun burger and liked it a lot--especially the bun. Thanks--sorry I forgot who mentioned it earlier--but thanks for the tip.

Sending you hugs, Patti.

We're having Mexican stuffed peppers with steamed asparagus. I think I'll have enough leftovers for at least two more meals. I spent a lot more time than usual in the kitchen tonight, so I'm glad that it paid off in not having to cook a couple of nights in the future.

I didn't cook tonight. Nita and Mike too me out to dinner and we all had ice cream for dessert.
