I guess it could be worse but Sydney sure is showing she is 18 and ready to leave home...Not only did she really dye her hair dark this time but she also got a tatoo....!! You only have to be 18 to get one.....I have 2 so I can't say I hate it LOL and actually I love it....she did good it is on her foot and is just a really pretty S.....You can kinda see it in the second pic.....I aprove of it so not a issue just she is really being indepent....Stacy

Yes I pray she doesn't do worse...Thanks joan.....I think she is beautiful...and have to say the dark hair does match her eyebrows perfectly...And it really makes her blue eyes pop....Stacy

It IS a hellebore and more precisely, Helleborus x hybridus or what is more commonly (and incorrectly) referred to as an oriental hybrid. So not a species but a hybrid of very complex parentage. These tend to be the most commonly sold and planted types and come in the largest range of flower colors. The vast majority are seed strains that will reproduce based on certain attributes or select flower colors but there are named forms that are propagated by tissue culture as well. These are very versatile and hardy plants and require minimal care once established. Laura, that definitely looks like Miami Rose. The second one rings a bell but it doesn't look like either Nebel's/Lei or Intense Rainbow--wrong color pattern and petal shape. Still a beautiful flower, though! George, I'm sure that that isn't a J105. J105 always has white on the petals, plus a very large bronze/gold center with pink or red only on the edges. I am in exactly the same place with my red oak floors :( my floors look just as orange as in the pictures... and the variations and wood grain are much more pronounced than I wanted. I have the flooring company coming in on Monday to put down the third coat of poly - do I have any options at this point? Or just a matter of it mattering less once I get more used to the new color...? I had this same level of shock and discomfort with my wall color (had to leave my apartment for the evening just to soothe myself!), but once they sanded the floors - I realized I loved the wall color, just that my old floor finish was clashing with it. Now after staining the floor - I am back to feeling they really clash... and I really wish I had just opted for no stain and a natural finish instead... I’d take that look over what I now have any day. At least - that’s how it feels right now. To the original poster - @lacollar - (or anyone else with a similar experience) - did you eventually get used to (or even fall in love with?! :)) your floors... even though at first it felt like the choice of stain color was a huge mistake? Has anyone tried tinting the final coat to tone down the orange/reds? Does that work? Appreciate any help/advice. Thank you all!

On the foot is a good choice for her first tat. At least it's not some guy's name on her neck. LOL

She has grown into a beautiful young lady! I really like the tatoo! I think deep down I have really wanted to get one! LOL I never cared to when I was young but in the last several years I have wanted to do it.

At least she brought home something that she can take with her when she goes out, so I'm glad you didn't make a fuss.

Mine goes 18 in a few months and I don't think I'm ready to see any tattoos or earrings. lol

She's a real beauty and she looks responsible. You did good.

Isn't that a treble clef??? Rather stylized maybe. Maybe there is going to be more added? Does she sing or play an instrument?

I agree...if that is the worst!!! lol She looks beautiful in either haircolor! And I truely love her S! At least it is something that she will always have as her own!

My girls have changed hair color more than I can even count! I think the only color Caryn hasn't had is green!! It has never bothered me.

Kalie was just 18 when she got her first tat. It is only seen if she is wearing a bikini and her other one is a toe ring...I don't mind either of them.

My bosses DD is a tattoo artist with her own shop...Now there are some tats!!!! She has a full sleeve on one arm. I think she will someday regret some of them...but is still not the worst.

DillyDally, a treble clef goes the opposite direction.

I Googled photos of people with treble clef tattoos and some of them looked really cool. Some looked rather weird and were placed oddly. It all depends on the skill of the artist.

Thanks everyone.....she really has me wondering lately!! LOL....but she still is being good just doing little things like this...guess since she never did anything in high school...she is now breaking out?? I really like her better with her blonde hair...but she said Mom I was born with black hair...I said yes Sydney for all of 2 weeks....but it really does match her eyebrows better since they have always been black...weird kid LOL!! Yes she is Susan she will be going to UCO in Edmond (OK) about 2 hours from here...she is still saying she wants to be a child physcolgist (sp) to help kids that had her problems....it is also the top Forensic college in the U.S and she likes that stuff too but she said that involved alot of math and she does struggle with math like her momma...Stacy

good for her! glad she's only 2 hours away, lol...bet you'll get to know that road very well, lol. with child development classes, she can go several ways... i know 4 years seems like a lifetime but tell her to look ahead to grad school and at least a masters for her physiology degree...(my boys best pal is one)

right now teaching might be a good "back door" step. my dd1 is a msw, and is fighting to keep her job...
