I have my Aroma cooker loaded up with soup makings, the rest of the spiral ham ham hocks and fresh vegetables. It smells great. Might make some cornbread to go with it.
Another rainy dreary day, but we need the rain, so don't mind it. But it is bringing out the mosquitoes.

Another hot day on the golf course. We played at a neighboring club. We call them Home and Aways. They invite several clubs to play a friendly tournament (the prize is one, two or three golf balls depending on whether you came in first, second or third) and then we invite that club and several neighboring clubs to our course. We pay cart fee and lunch cost. It's an inexpensive way to play other courses.

I had a lovely lunch but have to make something for DH and that would be taco salad tonight. He loves taco salad so he should be a happy camper.

Geez, Mary. If it isn't rain it's heat. What's happening to Tennessee?? Guess that heat wave is from coast-to-coast but should clear out soon. Florida, well, we just live with it until October.

Raven, I just had to buy some dried Great Northerns at the store for soup. See what you made me do? :-) Yes to the cornbread.

Georgysmom, that sounds like fun--good way to make new friends, too. This heat should be letting up soon. (Or so they say.) Nice to make your DH a favorite--you must be exhausted.

I got a phone call earlier in the day from my friend that lives down Patti's way. She's in my area visiting family. We went to the Ponderosa this evening. I had steak medallions and buffet.

After we ate and talked and talked and talked, of course, I invited her to go with me to visit my special needs sister. We had such a good time with her that we ended up being there over an hour.

My neighbor has a plum tree and it is very prolific this year.
She gave me peaches earlier. Good neighbors are wonderful.

Shirley, it sounds like a wonderful visit with an old friend. So glad you had such a good time--and that your sister enjoyed the visit, too. That's wonderful!

Carol, I think you must live in paradise. Your area always seems to have fresh fruit or vegetables growing and they're so tasty--even after traveling all the way across the U.S. I don't think I've ever seen an apricot growing on a tree, or a plum either. Enjoy your goodies!

Leftover baked yams and stuffed mushrooms. They were good earlier this week and will be even better tonight!

So darned sick of the heat and humidity. According to the news we're hotter than Mexico City, and Jerusalem, LOL.

So I made a Greek salad and bruschetta for dessert. Cantaloupe and yogurt or ice cream for dessert.

We had chicken casserole, mixed vegetable salad and peach cobbler. I used the oven for the first time in several days. It's just too hot to even consider baking!
