I really like the sound of your supper Patti! I am having just a bowl of raisin bran with a banana. Cheryl and I pulled weeds today out of the garden. Very hot day.

Just making some pasta with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, lemon juice, fresh basil and Parmesan.

I fixed turkey salisbury steak and put it over brown rice. A side of green beans was added.

I ran my errands early this morning and it was still too hot/humid here in Ohio. I haven't peeked my head outside since then.

Sue, it's really hot to be pulling weeds. Too bad they don't wilt away when it gets over 80 degrees:-) Nice to have a light supper after that. I didn't make the noodles this time--bought frozen Reames, which are the next best thing to homemade.

Georgysmom, wish I'd thought of that. It sounds really good.

C'mon down, Shirley. Heaven knows there's plenty!! Good to get those errands done early when you aren't used to such high temperatures.

Patti, how did you make out with your test today?
Guess what-rain again which was good because I had a eye Dr's appt. Not good news I have cataracts in both eyes & I will be seeing a Specialist tomorrow. I hope to be able to get this fixed before my surgery on Aug 26th.
It was just sandwiches tonight something easy.

Had one ear of corn and two potatoes, so corn chowder it was.

we had fishsticks (real chunks of real fish) salad and cheesy potato...

talk about timing..had the fan on in the window, oven fan on, and baked the fish watching the time so the kitchen wouldn't get too hot, lol....

lucky for us tomorrow is date night! and last of the 90's+

We really need a rain. Some places are getting thunderstorms, and a couple of tornado watches. Tomorrow should be the last of the heat spell, (I hope).

I made taco salad tonite, using Raven's avocado dressing as a topper. Hubby loves the dressing. We're going to make a plate of veggie munchies tomorrow to have with the dressing.

Mary, hope they can get those cataracts taken care of before the end of August. Should be doable. The PET scan wasn't bad at all. I don't like cooking after we've been gone all day, but I needed to use the broth I'd made. Sandwiches would've been a lot easier, though!!

Rob, aren't you clever?? I don't have that much forethought (if that's even a word) to have thought of cornchowder. Bet it was yummy.

Susan, I'm sure you won't miss those 90 degree temps. Your dinner sounds delicious. Before you know it, it'll be time for stews and roasts. I like summer a lot better than winter, though.

Whipped up a stir fry with chicken, celery, brocc., cabbage, mushrooms, green onions, garlic, and ginger. I added a splash of sesame oil to my sauce.....we liked it. Tossed in some toasted cashews at the end.

Jasdip, we love that dressing, too. It's great on tomatoes, too. Personally, I could just eat it with a spoon! I haven't made a taco salad for a while, but think I will soon.

Rhizo, that sounds wonderful. I always put a little sesame oil in it. Love that taste. The cashews sure put it over the top!

We had a salad with rotisserie chicken and cilantro dressing and a fruit salad.

Kittiemom, that's a great summer dinner--you have great hot weather meal ideas!

We had roasted chicken, lettuce and tomato salad, baked potato, pickled beets and leftover peach cobbler. Good!!
