Some weeks back, I started a complete reread of Harry Potter. So far, I'm up to the end of Book 6. First time I've reread them since reading book 7. VERY interesting to see how everything goes together, now that the ending is known. It's almost like reading them for the first time, since you have a totally different perspective.

I'm just about to start reading "Lean Mean Thirteen" by Janet Evanovich.

I just finished reading "Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella. DD gave me the book and I enjoyed it.

I just finished a Nora Roberts book, "High Noon", & started an older one by her (2006), "Blue Smoke", which I hadn't read before. Guess I'm on a Nora Roberts kick these days.

I'm reading "The Bridesmaid" by Ruth Rendell. I'm on the waiting list for the latest Janet Evanovich. Just read "Burning Bright" by Tracy Chevalier (Girl w/ a Pearl Earring.)

I've been trying to listen to Garden Spells on my IPod, but just can't get into it. Maybe it's one of those that I need to actually read the book myself. I have The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokow on my computer. I think I'll put it on my IPod and try listening to it. I loved listening to his book, Boom.

I just finished reading Nora Roberts' new book, Tribute. It is so-so. I liked Blue Smoke better.

I have Water for Elephants on my end table and that is next up.

I'm almost finished with "Out Stealing Horses" (I love it) and after that I just bought "The Beautiful Things that Heaven Bears" by Dinaw Mengestu. It received a great review by Khaled Hosseini who wrote "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns" both of which I really liked.

"Book of the Dead" by Patricia Cornwell. Her earlier Scarpetta books were her best.

For those who like medical thrillers, I would highly recommend "The Fifth Vial" by Michael Palmer--it was excellent.

Vannie said she is reading a book by Ruth Rendell. I learned about her here at the KT and got her book Going Wrong. If anyone wants it, let me know and I'll pass it on. First come, first served!

Just finished "The Courtyard" by Marcia Willett, reading right now "Full of Grace" by Dorothea Benton Frank" and have "War Journal" by "Richard Engel" next.

I just started The Obessions and Passions of Janis Joplin. Not into too far yet, but it's going to be an interesting read! She had a pretty wild life.

I too, learned of Ruth Rendell from here, and got The Lake of Darkness from the library. I am almost finished, and will most likely get more of her books. I enjoyed this one. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm going to start "A Monk Swimming" by Malachy McCourt.

I'm not reading anything right now...which is highly awful...but I'm trying to get ready to go back to work next week and so I'm in housecleaning and painting mode...gonna write some of these titles down cause I can never remember anything when I get to the library! I have yet to read anything by Nora Roberts that I didn't love...Sue Grafton's alphabet series is excellent...I got on a James Patterson kick this summer and his books are excellent...I don't remember who recommended Ruth Rendell from here but she is another "can't put it down" author!

Enjoy your reading!!

I am reading---over and over and over---the notes I took at the conference in Vegas a few weeks ago. I need to organize/revise them into a detailed report that is due, ummm, tomorrow!

I'm listening to "The Talisman" by Stephen King and Peter Straub. I love this book.

Azzalea, if you ever have the chance, you've got to listen to Jim Dale perform the HP series on c/d. The man is just awesome, and I heard so many things in the listening than I noticed in the reading.

He holds the Guiness Book of Records for the most voices in an audio book - 134 for The Order of the Phoenix. He also won a Grammy this year for The Deathly Hallows.

And if you enjoyed Harry Potter, you'd probably like The Talisman

I just finished The Kite Runner. I'm going to start Names on a Map tonight. I reread Jane Eyre and Rebecca earlier this summer - I love those two books and Dr. Zhivago!

Jude Deveraux's Someone to Love
Got a pile of Sue Grafton's books to catch up on...also have the latest of Fern Michael's Sisterhood series Fast Track in my to be read pile.
I haven't been able to read much at all lately... Drew was here a week and I am playing catch up with the house and laundry now Hunter comes Sunday for almost 2 weeks and gotta go pick up Maddie and DS on Friday.

Azzalea, I've been listening to the H.P. books on CD in the car on the way to and from work. I'm on book two now. I really miss waiting for the next book to come out and finding out what happens next. We have all but the last book on CD. I guess I'm going to have to get it one of these days.

I've never heard of Ruth Rendell before. I still have a small pile of books I've never gotten to. Just don't have a lot of time to read anymore. I did sit for a few hours in the sunroom and read this afternoon. Even with the fan on and the doors open it was pretty hot in there. Came inside to watch some Netflix movies with the kids.

Just about to finish Every Breath You Take by Judith McNaught.

Next I will be reading Shiver by Lisa Jackson.

"To Kill a Mockingbird".

It is so old it is falling apart and the original cost of the paperback was 60 cents. It is still just as interesting and thought-provoking as it ever was. "Stand up, Miss Jean Louise. Your father is passing" still gives me chills.

Another that I re-read now and then is "Watership Down" by Richard Adams.

The "Kitchen Table", of course.

Anything by Clive Cussler.

Full Bloom by Janet Evanovich. It's not the Stephanie Plum charactors but still fun.

23 Minutes in Hell by Bill Wiese. Supposedly this man died for twenty three minutes and went to hell, he describes what he saw there. I don't know if I believe him or not, and he can't prove or disprove his story. vique

Juist finished Made in the USA by Billie Letts. I didn't want to put it down until I finished it! Now I have started Origin by Diana Abu-Jaber. Its a hardback I picked up at the Dollar Tree but its still a very interesting book!

I don't read too much anymore. It is time for my annual read of "Alas, Babylon"

I just finished The Memory Keepers Daughter but now I have to find Made In the USA. I love, love, love Billie Letts.

I have been on a "King Henry the V111" reading binge.Started with "The Other Bolyn Girl" then The Bolyn Inheritance" 900 plus page "Autobiography of King Henry V111" and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading those books.I will go back and read some others in that time period. fascinating. If anybody has any suggestions let me know.

Just finished Sail by James Patterson it was very good. Right now I'm getting ready to start The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, I bought it this past weekend after reading so many good reviews. I also want to get Made in the USA, glad to hear it is good.

Gemini40 - You might like to try a book I have just begun reading - Jane Boleyn the true story of the infamous Lady Rochford by Julia Fox - its a non fiction biography but is written in an easy format...in other words it's not too dry (at least for my taste).

At the the top of my "what I'm currently reading" list (besides about 8 other books) - is an interesting fiction book called "Desert Blood" The Juarez Murders by Gaspar De Alba . It is based on fact but done as a mystery fiction. I've only about 50 pages left and haven't been able to put it down. I'm also listening to a CD of a book "The Book People" (and am drawing a blank on the author) but it is an interesting book to listen to....mind you anything is interesting when you are doing dishes !

Yesterday i started The Good Doctor,it's about this dr that was a serial killer.True story.Didn't get very far in it as something more important came up.
