Yes, I really do live in San Francisco, but there are some personal complications so I am not yet ready to build, but I did an online search and got 300 per square foot, added up 1,000 feet and realized I could not afford it. It is not a house I am living in, now I am going to inherit it. This is still not a good time to sell because before the crash, they prices were so much higher. They could go up in the next few years if we have a recovery. Most people in my area, want to rent out the places instead of selling. There are very few homes for sale now in my area, because people are waiting. Some condos have recently sold, but few houses. In fact, there are renters on both sides of my house, and many renters on my block.

Glad to hear the good news. I totally get the heart-stopping feeling. When my now 4 1/2 year old twin grandsons were born at 36 weeks, one spent 1 week in the NICU then another week in the step-down unit. The other twin had blood and bilirubin issues and spent 2 weeks in the NICU, where they performed a total blood transfusion at 8 days old, then 2 weeks in the step-down and then we spent the next year running back and forth to hematologists and pulmonologists. The poor baby was a pincushion. Thank goodness that's behind us and they're both getting ready to start kindergarten this fall. Helene

San Bruno is about 40 minutes from me. It's been on the news all night. They're saying it's not a plane. It's believe to be an underground gas line explosion but they're not sure. They dont know much. Neighbors in the area are saying they've been smelling gas for about the last week in the neighborhood though. That can't be good. It's all so tragic. Watching it on the news is so sad. They say the explosion looked like something you'd see in a movie.

You brought 70 plants on the plane? Impressive! You can get used grower pots for free, often, by checking Craigslist and Freecycle. I'd also recommend joining your local neighborhood Buy Nothing group: https://buynothingproject.org/find-a-group/#CA and post a request asking if anyone wants to get rid of the old pots in their garage or shed.
