I have been watching this since Phoenix hatched! Got on the website last night to see if it had left the nest yet, only to be shocked that he/she had died! I hope they find out in the autopsy how this happened...very, very sad....

Did you see the climber get it today? Was touching when he waved at the camera.

No, I missed it. The bird was there, then it was gone. I check in periodically, but don't have time to sit and watch for more than about 5 minutes at a time. Darn, would have been nice to see it.

I posted the link to the forum for the Hornby Island Group and an update on pawsitive's first post about the eagle cam. It was so sad to watch, the climber was so reverent in this sad duty. I cried most the day.

I hope this works, you can watch the tree climber get the body (around 2 minutes in) then keep it on and atound 6 minutes in, you can hear mom or dad eagle calling...Very sad.
