You are not going to get everything you wished for. Even if the filter of a bagless is washable, it will eventually need to be replaced. That Euro Pro will need to have its filter replaced. Notice that some sites will also advertise the replacement filter. If you want the features of the listed Euro Pro EP604 then check out the Eureka Optima liteweight upright. It will work very well for someone who has wood floors, a few area rugs or small amount of wall-to-wall. With any bagless, make sure that the filter is cleaned regularly. So many times, people will get a vacuum and will later say they hate the bagless, because the suction dropped off. Well, that is the filter. If they just tapped the filter after every use and occasionally rinsed the filter(some brands), and replaced the filter, then there would not be too much of an issue with the suction. A bagged liteweight upright would be my better suggestion. I have two off the top of my head.

Bissell PROlite Multi-Cyclonic Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 17G5 Love it, we have hardwood, tile and carpet and it cleans all surfaces and has brush switch at the handle. Bought it on Amazon - with free shipment it was $50 saving on the price compared to Target or Lowes. The only thing -it is a bit heavy but still best so far. Here is my review posted on Amazon, you can read others on Amazon. "came quickly, time to take out of the box and set up - 5 minutes with one screw driver. Suction is amazing, I can't believe how much dirt and dust it got in first 10 seconds. Yes it pulls on your carpet especially when you are working at the edges. It is a bit heavy and takes a bit of effort for me to move it around, so that is the heaviest I will ever buy. I have hardwood floor and carpet in bedroom, and I followed with dust whiper on hardwood floor -- almost no dust to speak off. I will not get under your couch without attachments - too thick front body. Still, I like it for the price and quick clean up. Have not tried the attachments yet."

Above budget but I just paid about $425 with tax for cordless V8 Absolute from Dyson. I wanted a cordless handheld to clean the car and then I found out that you can attach the stick to the cordless with Dyson and voila I can clean all my floors in the house in addition to using it as a handheld. We have a Dyson Animal (for about 8-9 years that works fine) and I am seriously thinking of putting it in storage as the cordless is amazing. Life changer. I was sweeping our luxury vinyl plank every night but now I just do a "sweep" with the Dyson and it picks up way more than I ever could have imagined. I hesitated at the price but so worth it in my opinion.....

This is a timely subject for me as I have come to the conclusion that I could really use a small stick vac. Old age catches up to me at times and smacks me right across the head. Right now I am nursing totally compromised and painful knee on one side and an inflamed sciatic nerve on the other side and, for the first time in my long life, I am having difficulty doing things like stairs and any kind of pushing and pulling. I have been using a shop vac and I use the blowing action as much as the suction, maybe even more. But, I cant handle it as well as I used to and the action of sweeping can be painful. I used to sell vacs at Sears for a few years, and one thing to consider is what do you expect a straight suction vac to do on any manner of carpet, if you have it. Straight suction is not usually very effective for suctioning debris that has gotten tangled in the fiber of the carpet, with pet hair being the main offender. What is needed to do a good job is to have a rotating brush on the nozzle along with the suction. That is exactly what the better canister vacs that we sold at the time had. Those Sears canister vacs were pretty good machines and had a very effective and strong rotating brush. We used to get this all the time where a customer came in wanting to buy a vac with a high horse power, thinking that it took powerful suction to take up pet hair. What you really need is a mechanical action that you get from a rotating brush to act with that suction power. Most vacs dont have as much power as they are percieved to have. I think that most at the time were claimed to have maybe 3-5 HP. Which is pretty good, but not usually enough to suck up embedded pet hair. I have no pets but have runners on the two flights of stairs. The runners are low pile, so not really much of a carpet. I wish there was one that had a dusting attachment that would clean the dust from the baseboards. Canister vacs used to have that littel round tube thing with some bristles on it, but I never found that to be very effective at cleaning baseboards. If you have only hard floors, it really doesnt take much suction to take up most debris. In that case, you have to weight the other attributes of the machine. Wall to wall carpet is rare anymore and I bid it good riddance. I dont know where I can go anymore to actually see and try a vac. I read the reviews and I dont find much value in them. So I am going to see what some of you have to say about yours. I just want one that has some durable quality , is simple in design, lighweight and can be either cordless or plug in . If I judge the quality of one with a plug to be better than a cordless, I will buy the better one. I have not looked at vacs in a long time and am not familiar with this new breed. But, I do know that pet hair in carpet does not come out very easily unless it is brushed up with the rotating brush. Cat hair, in particular has little barbs on it that make it especially hard to pick up. You may get some of it up. One thing that i saw before my vac selling days ended is that there were some vacs that came with rotatiing brush heads but they were not very good. I remember one that Sears decided to sell that was not a Kenmore brand name. I really do believe that it was Meile, but I could be wrong on that. I do remember that it was a European maker. It had a brush that was supposed to rotate to clean carpet but it had no motor in it and it depended on the suction to rotate the brush, which was impossible to do. The Kenmore brushes had a motor in the nozzle with a belt that turned the rotating brush with reliable strong force. The Kenmore canister vacs were darned good ones and they lasted for years. I am looking at that little one that looks like a small canister, but it really is just a stick vac that has been stacked a bit differently. I only need one that gets used for lightly for small areas at a time. I just cant handle things like I used to. I also need a lightweight mop. I have always used the old fashioned mop head but one that I could put in the wash and get it clean. Now I am going to be looking for maybe a sponge mop. I never liked those but it may be what I can handle now.
