Hypericum. That looks like one of the shrub types and not the stoloniferous subshrub H. calycinum, a ground covering plant I don't particularly like. I've grown H. inodorum, purchased, and find that one a reasonable woodland plant, but it will self sow.

Hi, laurelL's froggie is a good guy, but yacheryl, I'm sorry to say yours looks like a Cuban Tree Frog--he's got really big toe pad/suction cup thingies, and CTF's are kind of a ghostly grey. We've got one in our screen room that has grown to over 2" across, not counting legs. It rests on our ladder (I don't know why the ladder is in the screen room) during the day. The frog almost looks like a big lump of shiny silly putty on the side of the ladder, only not quite as pink as silly putty. I haven't seen any other kinds of frogs inside the screen room this year (we've had the little green ones, and a bigger barking tree frog before)and even the brown anole population seems down inside the screen room. I have trouble killing vertebrates but you're really supposed to catch and euthanize Cuban Tree Frogs (as well as brown anoles, I think). You can find directions on-line, I think IFAS (Florida extension?) tells you how.

Grasshoppers will chomp some of the leaves on your your roses. While a single grasshopper is not the worst pest, they can become problematic when there are many of them. If you have one grasshopper in a huge rose bush that always grows like wild, I wouldn't worry about it, but if the grasshopper is feeding on a small rose bush that you care about, I would move him to the other side of the yard. Grasshoppers do help attract colorful birds.
