I think we've all "been there, done that". We get so excited about trading for something we don't have that we trade off starts of new plants before we've even grown them. I've learned to be more patient now. I'm an avid daylily collector and it's important that my plants be accurately IDed before I trade them to someone else. So I don't trade my plants anymore unless I've seen them bloom (or grow) and took pictures of them and then researched them to be sure they were correctly IDed by the source from which I received them. So many of my first daylilies were misnamed. And I traded them under those names, disappointing other traders. But when you know better, you do better, right? Thank you for stepping up to the plate and owning your mistake. Cannas, one of my favorite plants, really are a nice substitution for a banana. Maybe your traders weren't too disappointed.

I MUST apologize - my #7 plant is really 2 different plants - sorry about that. #1 could very be well the dreaded oriental bittersweet. the leaves are round-ish, and it seems that is one way to tell the native from the non. it's the first I've seen of it here. it'll have to go. as will the privet and burning bush - buh-bye davidl_ny5 3 for 7 isn't too bad. Sad to say, in many areas of my small plot the ratio isn't that good - but I'm working on it. I have a LOT of stuff to subtract still. #2 poke weed can stay - I've never seen it so small. I would like to try to move it to a better location. I've tried moving these before, but they were larger - wasn't too successful. #3, #7 (first two pics) and #7 (last three pics)- I need to find more about these. I'll see if I can get a positive ID on closer inspection. thanks for helping me narrow it down. salix, malus, Liquidambar and Crataegus. I really have to get a good tree and shrub ID book! you've all been very helpful - thanks again!

i am in the real SE MI ... adrian.. as compared to those detroit burb hosers who claim to be inches from OH ... lol ... totally and completely bulletproof.. once established... i bought mine.. 14 years ago .. a 6 foot stick in a one gallon pot from big lot ... and it never looked back .. pure sand.. no water after 2 years ... clay is irrelevant to all conifers all but for how you plant it ... ken

I'm one of the computer challenged species, but when I am done I would consider it a necessary pay back to the community to figure out how to post my kitchen. I have used the FKB, and benefited so much from Starpooh's work, and all the other people who have so generously finished that last detail: posting their finished results. I owe a huge debt to you all, and if the appropriate payback currrency is figuring out how to post, then I damn well will figure out how to do that! (And as with all unknown things here on the GW KF: there's kindly, patient, people here to help me learn new stuff.)
