Sauder furniture, replacement parts, Unbelievable

I may be jumping the gun...but I don't think so.

We bought an "Entertainment Credenza" (tv stand) from Goodwill.

It had 'Salvage' stickers on it that someone tried to conceal with black marker.

So we knew something was wrong with it. It had a price of $70 on it. We asked about it and was told that a customer just returned it because it was broken. It had not ever been put together, was still in original box with all packing materials.

DH checked it out and we were approached by the manager. She said she'd sell it to us for $20.

The top of it was broken along the front side. The whole piece was about to separate.

She then offered it for $13.

So we bought it.

We found a piece of wood just a little larger than original.

Meanwhile, as there had been talk here on the price of replacement parts, I thought I check the price of a replacement top.

I never did find a replacement parts list, just an order form. I filled it out, expecting to end up with having to input CC info.

Never did have to do that AND it is being delievered today!!!

Can you believe that??!!

Target is one retailer for it and they sell for $140.00.

So the other top..both the broken on and the one we bought, will be made into shelves.

I am moving and will need the shelves for books and stuff.
