I need ideas for small gifts to give, for a couple of games we are playing. ex: Right/Left- story game, etc.
Frozen yogurt gift cards, are one item, but I need 2 more gifts that can be won. They must appeal to ages from, 10 to 85! Does anyone have any ideas?...TIA

Is there a price range? I have a few ideas: Amazon gift card, candy, Target or Walmart gift card.

At a Christmas party we went to a few years ago, one of the couples brought their children and had them play the game. One of the kids won, and the host was clearly not expecting kids to play, as the prize was massage oil. The prize was quickly swapped out for cash.

Something that I've taken many times as a fun little gift for all ages are one of those solar powered flowers. Seems to appeal to everybody. There are many options and price ranges on line, most less than $5.

Thanks, Lowspark - we'll get lots of ice the morning of the picnic and our house is already baby-proofed (hooray!). I've been doing lots of laundry so there's lots of fresh towels, too - nothing like a soggy towel - yuck! Dottie - great idea about washing pot holders! They're soaking in Oxyclean right now, but I wouldn't have thought of that! I also took out a bunch of serving spoons to polish up. Yes, Lindac, I've stocked up on TP and paper towels, lol! Good reminder about the music; we have satellite radio but I need to research a couple of music types so we're not fumbling at the last minute. Time for me to find some post-its! Thanks you guys!

I still have 10 birthdays yet to come. I hate this time of year. For the young kids (under 8) I found some cute bath towels in the shape of animals - cows, dogs etc. So I bought them each one for the birthdays. For their Christmas, I bought the 4 brothers a homemade barn house. My sister us buying the animals and tractors and such. For the girls, I bought Barbie clothes at a craft sale and a stuffed blanket animal for the baby. For DH, I'm still stumped. He just had a birthday last week and I bought him a new golf bag. For DD, I'm not sure. She is in college and I know can use money mostly but I hate giving money because it is so impersonal. I may give her mainly gift cards, we'll see though. I still have most of my Christmas shopping to do.

"Overweight people know they need to exercise and usually the issue isn't access to a gym or cost." I've never been thin, and have been on a weight roller coaster through my life too, so I speak as a fellow traveler on the same road and I speak from experience. An overweight person who gets into a regular exercise routine won't remain overweight. Why do so many who could benefit from physical activity not do so? Not infrequently, it's the same as why they don't curb their eating habits- some combination of excuse making, a lack of personal discipline and/or inadequate motivation to stay on the wagon. The "I'm not athletic" excuse or "I'm self-conscious about my appearance" excuse are both that, excuses. Many don't care for classes, fair enough, but even strenuous walking for 30 minutes at a crack can be effective and requires no equipment or ability, Giving someone a membership takes away the excuse. I would check first, no sense spending money on something that would go unused. I question the true "wisdom" of two parent "health care professionals" who would encourage a young person to undergo thoracic surgery before first exhausting all possible efforts to make lifestyle changes. These surgeries allow the person to continue to overeat, hardly a solution to what is a lifetime problem.

If she has all the stuff she needs how about giving her some of your time. A letter is a good idea imo. Or organise a walk or visit to a place of interest. Personally I would find expensive gifts embarrassing and would feel even worse if it was something I didn’t actually like. But I’d love an excursion with a friend. My second choice, if I had a yard, would be a low maintenance tree or shrub. You would plant it and water it while it got established. On the other hand I wouldn’t use anything monogrammed or embroidered.

Funny about the massage oil! lol

The price range would be $5-$10.00. We are footing the bill for the dinner, limited bar, centerpieces etc. So, we don't want to be chinsey, but also, don't want to up the tab too much more.

Lotto tickets...hmmm, that's only good as an adult prize. Maybe it could be saved for when the first adult wins?

Small battery operated LED Flashlights.....fit in a purse or jacket pocket and kids like them too. USB thumb drives, and more likely than not the kids will like these as well as tech minded adults. Both are well under the 10 $ price range.

What about things like playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, and inexpensive games like Yatzee, Milles Bourne, etc?

thank you all for the good ideas.
I thought of card games, etc., but I don't know if they would already have them.
thumb drives are good.
picture frame is good too, for the group picture. (35 people)

We used to go to a picnic for dh's profession that gave away fun ordinary stuff. I haven't looked at prices in a whiles or not sure if this fits the price range, but here is some stuff that seemed to be a hit. American flag or flag pole for outdoors, water hose, screw drivers, hammer, or other tools, anything from a garden enter like plant, funny statue, small tools, pool toys, kite, random kitchen items. Gift cards to Starbucks, subway or local gas station.

People don't care what they win. They just like to win.
