No, we did see the preview, but decided with it being Steven King it would probably not fit our likes. I do wish they'd leave the Sci Fi Channel to actual Sci Fi shows though. Horror is not Science Fiction in my book. There's nothing scientific about horror.

We watched it and I liked it, I'm with you, I really like Emily Rose.

Oh, I wouldn't call it horror at all. Horror is something I stay away from. Is there a category called "Mysterious and a Little Weird"? That's what I would call it. :-)

Now that I might like. Hubby wouldn't, but I would. I may have to check that out. Thanks Alisande.

i haven't seen it. But thats because DH controls the remote. Grr...

Jannie, mine does too, that's why I record things I want to watch when he's not home.

I watched it all the way thru and thought it was boring and predictable. I usually like Stephen King story adaptations. This makes me wonder if it was the poor acting and pitiful directing that made the show so dull. I plan to watch another episode just to see if maybe because I wasn't in the best of spirits as I watched, that it seemed so mediocre.

I admit I did predict the bad guy, but that doesn't bother me. Just makes me feel smart. LOL

I didn't notice any poor acting, and I guess I don't know enough about directing to recognize when it's pitiful. :-)

I didn't watch Haven, but wanted to say that Glee is showing reruns on Thursdays on FOX. You can also watch episodes on fox.com as well.

Here is a link that might be useful: Glee epsiodes on fox

alisande You asked "Did anyone else see it?" Then offered your opinion. "I rather liked it, especially Emily Rose, the lead actor."
I answered and gave my opinion of the show. We are allowed to have differing opinions.
I do know something about acting, casting, directing and film making. My classmates and I have done a few Independent Films while in school and won an award or two for the films. I have done one IF since leaving school and it was and honorable mention.
I predict the show may last the season but it probably will not go a 2nd season.

LIL

Lil, of course we're allowed to have differing opinions, and I was not denigrating yours. I really don't know enough about directing to critique it. Obviously, you do, and more power to you.

I don't even watch enough TV to attempt to predict what will last and what won't. Some shows are obvious standouts, but usually by the time I get around to discovering them they're already out on DVD, which is how I catch up. Watching a pilot, as I did with "Haven," is a rare occurrence for me.

Now that I've been using the dvr I record a lot of shows for times when I am not well enough to be on the go, or when the insomnia kicks in. I get to see more shows and movies now days. I think the best thing about recording all the things is I DON'T have to watch commercials. My FF button is rubbed blank. LOL

Film making classes were fun and I enjoyed the young (late teens and early to mid 20 yr old) classmates I was with. They gave me an amazing new aspect on the younger generations. They never understood their parents till they worked with me and our study, planning and work sessions usually ended with an hr or so personal time at a coffee shop or my house after the work was done. It helped me to better communicate with my teen grand kids. I don't get the "eye-rolls" from them when we are talking music and techno and ideas anymore. That is a good thing.

I really like most of Stephen Kings writing and many of the screenplays adapted to television and movies turned out well. I was disappointed "Haven" did stand up as well in my opinion. Hubby liked it okay. I must say though it was better than the movie "Cujo".
I am still hoping it will pick up the vibe. I've seen some not so great premiers that have turned around a few shows in and done a few good seasons. I'm not into the slasher blood and guts horror but I do like the semi-paranormal mystery movies and shows.

LIL

The film making classes sound like a lot of fun, Lil. One of my co-workers is involved in film making with her whole family. Her daughter is enrolled in college is a film major, but the brothers and parents like to play, too. A lot of what they do is very funny. I'm always impressed with what they come up with.
