I Need Some Help Please

I am calling on the Prayer Warriors. My Jim had his annual physical at the VA on Tuesday and they had him have three chest x-rays. Yesterday he had a CT Scan.They found a large mass in the upper left quadrant of his lungs. We took the results to our Primary Care doctor and she will probably schedule a biopsy. My brother who lives with us was supposed to have back surgery tomorrow but they found something in his heart and will not do the surgery until he sees a cardiologist. I know you are great prayer warriors and I could sure use some help.

Gosh, you're being hit from two directions. I pray that all goes well for both the guys in your life. Take care of yourself in the midst of this. Sometimes when caring for others, we forget to do that.

Lots on the family's plate right now. I'm sending up prayers for both men, that the tests will show nothing drastic.

Maureen, you are off to a good start. Earwigs...cringe! I hate those buggers. I would leave the foliage especially if it is green and healthy. Do not get the basal plates overly wet, but do wash off soil and trim any roots that look like dry string. The plump roots are what you want. Let the plants dry off a bit and plant. I am not an expert, but giving them a fresh start just may give you new blooms. Good luck and keep us posted.

The snow shovel idea would be kinda funny in Birmingham, Alabama.....lol. I think that Laura would happily admit to being a fou-fou kind of gal. :-) What about a collection of cool birdhouses, painted or not, strictly for ornament? Different designs and colors, they would also look good with pots of annuals (to be changed seasonally) or permanent plantings. It would never occur to me to decorate for Valentine's Day. Get another flag! Or, what about a special wreath for the door? I've seen pretty heart shaped wreaths made out of faux boxwood which you could decorate with pretty ribbons. Or a piece of styrofoam covered with shiny red foil and decorated to loom like an antique candy box. My front porch is decorated only with containers of colorful annuals. Well it took me awhile but finally finished my chair. I started out trying the gel but did not like the results so went with a satin finish black paint. I am happy with the results. here is a photo.

Prayers for the family. Ask the Dr. about a Pet Scan. It shows up the cancer more clearly (if any). My husband gets them every 3 months for his cancer. Ask for a specialist NOW, thru the VA. They do have some good ones but will do out patient treatment if needed. Just insist.

I'm so sorry, Sandie. That's a lot for one person to cope with. Just try to take one day as it comes and do the best you can. Think positive! I pray all three of you come out of this well. ((Sandie))

Thank you so much for your prayers. My brother,Ken, goes to the cardiologist on Monday. We haven't heard back from our doctor yet, but I told Jim to ask for the Pet Scan. Mariend, what treatment did your husband have? Jim will probably go to the Cancer Center here in Titusville, I just got finished with my treatment there and was very happy with them.He will be calling the Dr. this afternoon.

He just had another Pet Scan today. As of the last one, his cancer (non hodgkin's lymphoma) was under remission, but the Dr. gives him one treatment (Rituxan) about a week after the scan. It does not make him sick, etc, but does lower his immune system for about a week or so. I wish you the best. The pet scan is easier that the CT as it is radio active and does not damage the liver etc as too many CT scans seem to, but they are expensive. Thank goodness for insurance.
