thank you for posting...i'm so glad you, your home, and fur babies are ok!

I am happy to hear everything is ok for you and your pets. How awful peoples houses were looted. Is that something common to happen when areas are evacuated?

So happy to read your update.

Oh, thank goodness you, your home and your pets are all OK, Dollydolots! Wow, that was too close for comfort.

As for looters- I do believe a few instances of shooting them on sight (by the authorities) would really curtail that horrible practice. Grrr. That is SO LOW, it's mind-boggling.

Good to hear you are all OK and have your belongings safe. Guess I agree with Flamingo on this!

It's really good to hear from you. I was following the fire from an internet site and you are truly blessed that your home is safe. I do have a question about when you returned--wasn't the smoke smell overcoming? We've had forest fires close and had to stay inside due to that acrid smoke in the air. Anyway glad you are safe and thanks again to your good friend, Budster, for keeping us up to date.

Glad to hear you and your home are safe Dolly. That must have been a very scary situation.

It is so wonderful to see you here Dolly!
I'm glad your house and belongings are ok!

Hi Dolly who's been doing lots lately, for sure!

What good news that, after some travel and spending time with relatives, you're back home safe and sound ... and your stuff is safe and sound, as well.

Hope you don't get hauled out again, as some seem to be having to do.

When I note the title of your thread, I can understand that you're not quite sure whether you're coming or going ...

The radio said that some of the looting related largely to computer games, i-pods, etc. and they thought that the perpetrators were mainly teen-agers on four-wheelers.

However, there was a story about one home (at least) having been pretty well cleaned out ... so they figured that a substantial sized truck must have been involved with that. Which would require someone very familiar with the roads, terrain, etc.

It used to be who we were that counted ... but in recent times it seems to have become largely how much we have ... and the examples set by some of the rich guys lately leaves us with the impression that it doesn't matter too much how one got it. It's bad enough to be light-fingered ... but to be light-hearted about it is a matter about which we should have much deeper concern.

I hope that you're feeling relief in the situation that you are at present ... and not worried about having to get gone again in a rush.

ole joyful

Our prayers for your safety, and that of your home and furkids were answered. Thanks given.

I agree with Flamingo too, regarding the looting.

So glad to hear you are all safe and sound, and that your house was safe as well.
Must say i agree with Flamingo also.
I know how scary that was as we have that problem here in S.Calif.Every thing here is bone dry and we're on water rationing.
Stay safe.

Thank You!! Dolly for letting us know your all are OK. What an awful adventure (if I may call it that)you have been through. People who would loot from people who are already in turmoil, have to be lower than low. I hope for them, what goes around comes around. Again thanks for posting, I've been thinking about you ever since Bubster told us about you. Dottie

(((Dolly))) Thank you for the update. I have been wondering about you. Hope all stays well for you.

I am SO glad to hear that you are OK! And you can sign my name to Flamingo's post, too!!

Dolly, I'm so glad that you're all OK!

Donna (^_^)

Dotty, I am so glad you and your pets are safe. Watching the CBC the other night I could not believe that people had the nerve to loot. No wonder some people won't evacuate their homes.

I hope they get that other big wildfire contained soon. Wishing you lots of rain without lightning.

Anne

We thank you for letting us know. We have been concerned, and even though it was an ordeal, at least you survived and are back home. Take care!

I never even thought about looters...what kind of scum would do that to someone...

We've had a home break in once where they stold Denny's guns and our hidden cash supply and had several things set in living room they planned to take...I think they didn't expect Denny to be home so soon and took off out the back door, without the rest of the stuff.

It's a terrible feeling..

But I think having your home burn down would be so much worse.

I'm glad you were being watched over...and you are safe .

also...it's good to hear from you...

patti

So glad evereyone is back home and safe. Thanks for letting us know.

What great news Dotty! Living in Southern California I know what horrible fires can do. I hope things get back to normal for you sooner than later.

Susan
