I must have missed that email on panty hose being "out", I say wear whatever makes you comfortable!

Gee, if someone checks to see if you are wearing pantyhose, I think you have the right to bop them on the head!
Wear what you want--I've seen how people dress to travel by plane, and you'll be one of the better dressed passengers!

Many people don't like pantyhose anymore because they are so uncomfortable, but the definitely are not "out" as bare legs would be inappropriate in some settings like certain workplaces and dressy events.

Wear the knee highs. Comofort is more important than what anyone else thinks. And believe me, in an airport/airplane, no one is paying attention.

I actually prefer pantyhose over knee highs. They always feel too tight around my calfs and leave such horrid marks. I still wear pantyhose if I wear shoes that I think require them. I never could wear a dress without them.

I think any kind of hose or sock is "out" with sandals. They are normally only worn on a bare foot. It's really up to you but I mention it because you seem to care.

I have been and will continue to be a knee high person, at least with dressy slacks.

Panty hose out? For me, they were never in. I think I can count on one hand how many times I have worn them. LOL Not many!

I, too, am a big supporter of wear what you feel comfortable in.

However, for flying, you do want to avoid man-made fibers if at all possible. It's rare that there's a problem, but if there should be, and there's a high heat situation--those fibers will melt into your skin. Experts recommend wearing cotton--slacks or jeans for flying. For footwear, I'd wear either leather sandals (no hose) or sneaks with 100% cotton socks.

I had to take off my shoes at the Air Port to go through the check point. I noticed most people had on socks and sport shoes so they would have to walk barefoot through the check point. I wore sandals and walked through bare foot. But, most of the people on my flight were Vacationing in Mexico.

Another thing to think about would be the length of the flight. If you are going to be mainly confined to your seat for hours, there's the problem of blood clots in the legs. I would think knee highs would not be good as there is more constriction at the knee to keep them up. Panty hose should not be uncomfortable if they are the right size. Too big and the crotch is too long and too small and you can't get them pulled up to the waist.

I understand not wanting to get blisters by wearing sandals with bare feet while on vacation. Unless I am at the beach, I wear cotton socks with comfortable walking sandals.

From both a fashion point of view, and a comfort factor, nude knee highs with sandals are a no-no. But do whatever makes you feel comfortable. I (obviously) choose comfort over fashion in all cases.

I also remove my shoes/sandals while flying in order to remain comfortable, and wearing socks is more "modest" and hygienic.

Good grief!! I don't have time to worry about what's "in" and what's "out". If I have it, and I like it, it's "in" for me. Please yourself and forget what anybody else thinks.

When I fly, I dress and wear what's comfortable..And with having to take the shoes off going through security, I always wear a slip on type sneaker and socks....
I do have a problem with so many going bare legged...I think if you're wearing a dress up with high heels, you should be wearing panty hose, dress pants, then knee highs...Just my opinion.....

There is nothing I hate worse than to see a woman dressed up with open shoes and "naked" legs and feet (especially when the feet are calloused). The lady in front of me in church this morning..was like that...it's just wrong. I think it's a lazy thing.

Go to the FootSmart catalog web site. They have different types of "hose" that are made for wearing with shoes/sandals, so that your feet are comfortable, but they don't show outside of the shoe.

Since you're more comfortable wearing knee'hi's and they also look nicer than bare feet with sandals, I'd call that a no brainer. If you're concerned about the tops binding during a flight, just pull them down during the flight. Who's to know--or care?

Gosh, I hope they're not out! I wear the knee highs when I wear pants because I don't like putting my bare feet in leather loafers. Sandals is different.

I sit in the back of our Sunday School class. Yesterday I began looking at everyone's feet. I was the only one that had hose on. All of them were barelegged, some in dresses, some in pants...some in sandals some in heels....UUgggg

I agree with the 'do what makes you feel good'. That being said-I guess I'm from the 'old school' where when you dressed up-either slacks or a skirt/dress...you always wore stockings/pantyhose, etc.
Well..y'all should see these gals here in FL..when out clubbing..not one woman is wearing hose of any kind! Now-if I was under 30 & had no old veins showing-I'd go hoseless as well, but at my age-when I dress up? I want to cover the years of spider veins, etc (that I've accrued over the years) in order to look nicer in dresses, etc. Hard to teach an old dog.......

I don't think pantyhose are "out" at all. My former employer had a dress code and required women to wear pantyhose with skirts. We could get away with knee-highs if we wore slacks.

I don't think either are out either but....don't wear them with sandals....

Sally Hansen has a product called something like *Airbrush Legs* and it's great! It's not a fake tan (it washes off) but you do get even color. The best part is that it covers purple veins, discolorations, etc.

Are these open toed sandals? I wouldn't wear hose with open toed shoes, ever...no matter what. If they are slingbacks (which I don't really consider "sandals", but still) and the occasion required hose I would wear them. Sandals are "casual", so no hose.

I agree with Sue. No hose with true sandals. To me, that's like someone wearing socks with sandals...ew. However, if you are more comfortable with them on, wear them! Depends totally on where you place your priorities at the moment: fashion or comfort? I would be totally UNcomfortable with hose and sandals. But you decide for you and don't give a filp what anyone thinks.

I am glad to find out panty hose are out. But what do we wear in the winter with our dress or dress suit? I have always hated panty hose anyway. Knee highs are o.k. for me.

No one wears pantyhose anymore. But, I think that when one gets older that you should wear skits or pants that cover most of the leg. I can 't believe that someone could ruin the look of a nice dress, for a nice occasion, with bruised, nicked, pale legs, with feet squished into shoes like this.

I am older. I wear longer hemlines if I am not wearing hose.
