Boredom

I was thinking about boredom. Are you ever bored?

Gosh, I think that I am rarely, if ever, bored. I am retired & have very little structure to my life. I always have projects backed up or in process, a book that I am reading or one/several that I want to read, or something interesting on tv (pbs usually) to watch, or reading/exploring on the internet. So I alternate among the many things I like to do. Then there are always the "must do's" or the "should do's" around the house,.

I think of when I was a youngster & in the summers we'd get bored. But there really wasn't a lot to do & few kids to play with except siblings. We lived in the country & were poor. I loved to read but really couldn't access books much.

A young teacher with little kids told me the other day that she was "bored" & anxious to get back to work! I can't even imagine that. When I was working, I would have loved to have had 3 months off in the summer & I'm sure I would never have felt bored.

So, how about you? Are you ever bored? Do you think you've gotten more or less bored as you've gotten older?
