We had Grant's birthday party yesterday. He is such a ham and loved the attention. He cracks me up.

Here he is eating cake. I ask him to smile for me, this is what I get:

He got this little chair as a gift, he was being so silly in it. He'd screech and scream, throw his arms open, and look around to see if everyone was watching.

That kid is stylin'! He's so cute, Steph, I swear he's the handsomest little man ever seen. I think he had a great time at his party. I'm sure everyone did.

Cheater earthly, LoL Nancy - I wanted to tell you soooooooooo bad who your pal was because you loved your box so much. That is Maryannes signature. When my mom passed last year, she sent me a wonderful box with the "theme" of spiritual serentiy. She included a CD, 2 mini rose bushes, a pamplet, lots of things that was very soothing and calming. Kids are getting ready to go out. Caleb, of all things, is going as a "gothic barbie", Lain is going as a "Viking football player!!!", and James is going as "Spiderman" (only because his girlfriends dad is making him wear the costume, LoL). Caleb was wanting to g as a "dead hooker", whatever THAT would be, LoL. I told her that I was just going strap a matress to her back, and put a rope around her neck and call it good, HA! Yachter, I only have three great-grand nieces. I couldn't make up my mind, so got two animals for each. I may keep three to give them at another time, because I know they will have oodles of Easter stuff. The girls are the only little ones my family has anymore -- everyone else is older. My nephew's daughters are so good about keeping me informed of what's going on and sending me pictures. All three are five and under, so they are a lot of fun to be around. Maybe you are right, maybe the duck did squash white rabbit. I think I will see if I can give him some "massages". Thanks, guys. Sandi, I'm sorry your gkids are so far away. I have to say, though, I have a friend who wishes her's were 800 miles away. lol Judith, the pink bunny is my favorite, too. Punk, these talented gals here have taught me so much when it comes to creating tablescapes. The best thing I've learned is to shop Goodwill and places like Marshalls for bargains.That, and almost anything can be the start of a fun table centerpiece! I hardly ever buy a full set of dishes, though. Salad or dinner plates are easier to use . . . and store! DD: I wish you lived closer, too! I wish you all did, as it would be such fun to get together for shopping excursions and for some meals, too! Betty: More pinecone plates? Oooooh . . . that sounds tempting, but I think I'm at my limit with those. Thanks so much, though. Your kind offer means a lot! And yes, please do keep an eye out for more pieces of that other set. I'd love to get some of those dishes. As for my furkids, yes they do seem to like to pose for pics. They're both sweeties and I love them. Despite the bad rap dobies get, they are the sweetest, cuddly dogs. Ronin would like nothing better than to sit on our laps and sleep in our beds. We don't go that far, though! We dobie owners call them "Velcro dogs" because they always want to stay close enough to be touching you. Lynn

Thank you everyone for the encouraging words and wonderful compliments! The party went great :-) Now it's time to make the grocery list for the family party next weekend, no calling the caterer next time...lol. But at least my house is ready! So many of you asked about the door sprays. I found those in a booth at an antique mall early in the fall. They were an autumn arrangement and I liked the look of them so much that after Thanksgiving I just added the sprigs of red berries and decided they would work through the Christmas season too. The holder is a cone shaped metal (tin?) with florist foam stuck down in it to insert all the dried leaves and stems. After I bought the arrangements I saw the holders sold separately at another shop. They were $15 each with no arrangement. I took a close-up picture and another one of how I mounted it on the door. I used the 3m Command hooks that peel and stick on. Then I used a little spot of the Bluestick putty like teachers used to stick things on the walls to anchor them toward the bottom since they are so tall. It seems to be working. They've stayed up since October. sippimom...You asked about the living room rug. It's Karastan and the design is Paysage. Whenever you look up Paysage it looks nothing like the real thing. My living room picture is an accurate representation of the colors in it. Thank you for the compliments :-) You must be somewhere down around the Oxford area? He's a party animal, all right. Looks like he really got into the festivities. I can't believe how tall he looks in his jammies!! He's growing up too soon. :-(

Looks like he had a great second birthday party. Congratulations! And how are you feeling, sweetie? Any morning sickness? I was so tired during my two pregnancies, I could barely move, but, boy, I sure could eat!

I LOL'd at the pooped out picture! They seem like they never will run out of energy but they do and boy do they crash!!
Hey! He should have tied the balloons to his chair to see if he could fly like that other guy did! ;)

How adorable is that? He is a blessed little boy with all that love him. Is that little girl in the picture Grant's cousin? She looks like Grant.

OMG...I didn't realize it was time for his birthday already! Wow...time flies faster that I can think sometimes! He is so cute....what a great little boy he is! I can see he had a good time!

He does look tall..long leggs.

My little ggson will be 2 in August. He's got little short legs...He's not anywhere that tall.

I guess we'll be having a party for him too.

I'm out of the toy loop..I don't know what to get for him.

Grant is tall for his age at I think around 35" (he goes to the doctor tomorrow so I'll know for sure).

The little girl in the picture is the daughter of our good friends, she's 1 year and 4 days younger than Grant. It's his little girlfriend. ;-)

My neighbor that came to his party was saying that the party was probably more for us than him because he wouldnt remember it. I said that's right he wont, but when you're 2 years old you live in the moment so it's important to us to make every moment perfect so that he's happy right then and there. As he gets older, those moments turn into memories for him, but for now, they're our memories.

He may not remember the details of his party, but years from now he'll remember that he was always loved and happy!
Great pics Steph. Grant looks like he really enjoyed his day. I can understand why he'd love all the balloons! They're wonderful.

Happy 2nd birthday, Grant! Steph, I know so many people call the 2's "Terrible" but I teach a 2 year old class one morning a week and I absolutely love it! Enjoy all his questions, all his explorations, all his energy, even though it might be hard. He's learning through all of this! Have fun!

What a total Swweheart! Steph, he may remember parts of this birthday. I can remember stuff back to when I was 6 months old. It blew my Mom's mind when I described in detail even the linoleum pattern and everything about the house we lived in for about a year. Happy (late) Birthday, Grant!!!

Looks like the birthday boy had a real blast! You're so right about building happy memories & with today's technology, you can preserve those memories in such great ways. He'll love seeing the pics when he's older.
