The first thing trees do when stressed is to loose leaves. They dry and fall off. There is a chance that it is still alive. Scratch the bark with your finger nail, if you see a green under the bark, there is hope. Forget the fertilizer, water well then allow to dry, watch everyday. Stick your finger in soil, when it is dry water. It looks like it was planted in a pot that was too small. It should have been transplanted long ago. The small pot easily dried out esp. if it was hot for a long time. I will also say that if it does live, to go to the container forum and read about making some potting soil that will last a long time. The stuff in the bags at the garden centers is ok for a shirt time, but will not do well over a long period of time. At some point if you do fertilize do not give it the does recommended on the bag, make a weak version and use it regularly. Use 1/4 strength, - on regular basis. Wait until you see new growth before you fertilize. LOL - Mike

I'll look a little later. We had a chicken from across the street, who made herself at home here. We called her "miss pretty" and she took to hopping up a 40 foot ladder with scaffolding to get to roof to get to the maple tree where she would roost at night outside our window. When the roof job was finished, she began to roost on the rose arbor out back. We went on vacation, and she got killed and eaten by some critter. WE were all so sad. I never wanted to eat her, but I sure have dreamed about keeping chickens ever since then. I apolgize for the hijack, but needed to reminise a bit.

Thanks for the quick response. So I'm in mid florida. It's been upper 80s during the day and upper 70s at night. Quite mild with high humidity. Growing outdoors, Oregano is in 12 in. Plastic pot, thyme in a smaller 6 in plastic. 16 in. Clay For the Dill/spinach. The basil next to them in 12 in. Is doing amazing. Soil is the top shelf home depot pot of gold by Dr. Earth. All from seed indoors in starter kits then once true leaves started I left in kit but moved out doors window sill until they were nearly outgrowing the medium. Once transplanted, moved out into the sun, during Rain and storms i pull in under the porch. The soil never seems to dry out except in the clay spinach/dill so i haven't really watered them much at all. I spray regularly with a mild organicide, including a mix of neem, rosemary, lavender, spearmint oils. Dash of dish soap and cayenne pepper. Just like the first planting I did of Dill and oregano, they do great for the first about 2 months. Really flourishing since transplant. Then before they can really grow much larger than a couple inches, this strikes. My only other idea would be fungus because they are all next to each other and all died off about the same time. But again basil next to it in the same side by side potting is perfect. So I'm really lost. Haha. Thanks for any help.
