The KT Power is Real!!

The last time you were with me I had good results so I figured that it would help again. And it did! There is no further spread so even though it's advanced, it's locally advanced. It was such a relief that I hugged my oncologist. The bone and cat scans came back fine, they did not mention the blood tests though.

I am in the chemo chair waiting for them to mix the drugs. Getting anti nausea meds now by drip and 1 capsule. Finally. I decided to go with the trial drugs after reading up about it.

What makes my cancer aggressive is that the type of cells are known as squamous type cells which is rarely found in the breast. Which means more aggressive treatment for a longer period of time.

So thank you again for being for me and special thanks to the person in my first post who mentioned that you were in the doctor's office with me last time, which gave me the idea to ask again.

Sending good wishes to your daughter. To jannie, I don't think the ER doctor was passing the buck. Their sole job is to stabilize a patient. They are not treating doctors or in the position to follow up on a condition. Perhaps years ago ER doctors had more time & resources to do more treating. Today they having waiting rooms full of crisis situations and people who ignore symptoms or skip regular well-care visits and then think they can utilize the ER when the slightest thing goes wrong. We all need to take personal responsibility in having and seeing a primary care doctor. Unfortunately costly doctor visits and insurance and our mixed up health care system (with reporting, logging problems & then putting on riders or denying insurance) are often deterrents.

Well,I just talked to DS .DDIL was at work when he was talking to my DH earlier.She is a nurse.She wasn't feeling well so she went to the ER,they checked her over and her blood pressure was high.She told them that she was worried about the baby and why,and they did another ultrasound.Everything was fine! What the other one was showing was baby girl Jillian's foot! Now how in the world could they think that had anything to do with loss of amniotic fluid? The two technicians that did the first ultrasound were very unprofessional in the first place.After they spotted the "problem" they started whispering to one another and wouldn't tell DS and DIL what was going on,just that they needed to go to her regular OB on Tuesday.I understand that they were not qualified to make a diagnosis but they shouldn't have been whispering and acting suspicious.Anyway,she is on her way home now and feeling much better and I thank you gwanny23 and anyone else who said a prayer.

Just wanted to say one more thing........I had a wonderful colostomy nurse that visited me before I left the hospital. They come and show you how to take care of the colostomy....and explain how it all works. She said something to me that made all the difference in the world and it really did effect my attitude...she said.... Ruth, you can go home, feel sorry for yourself, suck your thumb and lock yourself in the house and be miserable because you have a colostomy, or you can get your butt out of bed and get on with your life. No one will ever know that you have an colostomy unless you tell them so go and do whatever it is that you feel like doing......I certainly took her words to heart and lived just that way.....and after the tissue in the colon had time to heal, I had the reversal ie... the rehook and it all went well............Tell your Mother not to worry......

I read all the responses to you, lindalou, and thank you for saying what is in my heart. I don't know how I got here but I was thrilled to find everyone. It is amazing how connected I get to the these folks and their stories and think about them when I am going about my day. I learn from the sage advice here and others struggles and recently changed my approach to a situation I was in because it was the best way to handle it. Needed you. Need you. I also laugh a little more and longer. I am among the ones who read the KT first. I also want to win jasdip's trivia contest sooo badly but I have strong competition who, like me, are almost always wrong. If there ever is a question that asks what do 1 in 3 people at a certain kitchen table do every day I think we would all get the answer right. I do wish the best for everyone here in the future. Close your eyes and feel us in those chairs beside you. Heather is telling you that that medicine flowing into your vein is not to be feared but to be welcomed. I was with her for her chemo. I'm sure she will be leaving a message here soon. She also had locally advanced inflammatory BC (the most aggressive type) but hey that was 11 years ago! You can do this. You will do this. It too will be past history.

Ask the nurse to bring in more chairs. Your cubicle is becoming standing room only!

I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that there was no spread. Cheering and holding your hand right now. Also offering you some ice cubes or a popsicle to suck to try and prevent mouth sores. Your blood work would have been fine or they would have told you and may not started the chemo if your CBC was off. They also look to see if your calcium is high which could indicate cancer in the bones. You know from the bone scan that you passed this test with flying colors. Chemo is your friend, relax and think of every drip working to destroy those naughty cancer cells.

Yes, as you sit in your chair, be thankful that you have the availability of those drugs. Welcome them into your system.
Don't fight against them. yea!

take those anti nausea pills afterwards when they tell you too. Dont' wait to see how you will feel. Take them! lol

I've been waiting to hear these results of your tests.

don't forget to eat, and DRINK WATER! Eat whatever tastes,or smells good. During my transplant procees, there were 3 days where broccoli and watermelon were my dinners! lol

Wonderful news for sure. Some of us may get thrown out since the room is getting so crowded, but we will come and go so you aren't alone. Prayers continue for you.

This room is getting really crowded but I think I can just squeeze into the corner. You have had such great advice from those who know what they are talking about so I'll just continue thinking positive thoughts and play some calming music. Diane

I'm always dashing on and off here lately due to a busy remodel, but I open your posts immediately when I see them, Zeetera, though I don't always have time to post. I'm soooooo glad to hear your good news and know you will give the chemo all you've got. Stay tough, eat as well as you possibly can and rest as much as you can. Thank you so much for checking in with us--always in my prayers.
