Want to see my dining room set and new blue walls? The dining room set was just delivered a little while ago. I haven't cut all the tags off it. I measured the area and compared it to the specs on the table before I bought it, but it still looks a little too big for the space. I'm going to have to find somewhere else to put the cabinet that's to the right of it. There's an extra leaf to the table too, but it's in the closet right now. Now to get some pads for the bottoms of the chairs so they don't scratch up the floor. The round table in the corner of the right hand side of the picture is my old table. It's going out in the garage later when Alex gets home. I have to e-mail a friend to see if her nephew ever got a new place so they can come pick it up. His apartment burned a couple months ago and he lost everything.

Unfortunately we didn't go....we were just walking by and had Jake with us and he was too young to sit still and be quiet. Maybe when the kids move back to Tokyo we can go. (I don't know if they will be moving there in the near future but it is always a possibility.)

A watercolor. pen and ink of the Casita's on 19th street in Tampa....These have been refurbished but they were originally the homes of the cigar factory workers. Many immigrants, including my husbands grandparents lived in these homes and as small as they were, raised their family in them.

Jodi, what is that tall plant in there? Is it silk or real? Either way, it would look GREAT in my room with all the red in it! lol

My Lizzie. We found her in the backyard last summer as a little kitten. She has totally charmed us!

Oakley, that tree is a silk ficus. Because of severe mold and mildew allergies, I'm not allowed to have live plants in my home. Breaks my heart. Though I'd probably suffer severe depression if I did because I would kill them all off so quickly. LOL

I also have a tough time in old movie theaters and used book stores/libraries because of my mold allergies. And of course I love books and movies. And people wonder why I spend so much time on the computer. I can enjoy pictures of plants, browse for books and watch movies without once having to reach for the Benedryl. :-)

I have no idea how yous get your pics when taking photo shots without the flash showing(glare),but here is an oil that is in my side entryway

ont_gal......I put the point-n-shoot in manual mode, turn off the flash.....then take the picture in natural light. :0)

Oakleyoak-Cute kittie and adorable picture.We use to have a big ole grey cat that liked to sleep in the bathroom sink.Go to the bathroom and there's a big ball of grey fur filling the sink.He didn't even mind if you turned the water on and got him wet.He also liked to get in the shower with anyone that might be taking one.Crazy cat!

You could also take the picture at a slight angle so the flash doesn't directly hit the glass in the frame.

I love that picture of the kitty in the kitchen sink. Mine jump quickly off the counter when I walk into the kitchen.

lillipad.....most of the art in my home was something a decorator used to stage a model home. Those 2 black & white prints are framed to match/color coordinate with the weight equipment & were hung in a home gym in a million dollar home. :0) When the home sold I got the art work. :0) It's a long story.....kind of....

The only way I could take a photo of this art without a picture of me or intense flash glare was at an angle.

Lilliepad, that red sofa is such a departure for me that I still shake my head with disbelief when I walk into the living room. :-) It sure is fun though to take a walk on the wild side. LOL

Jodi-When I married in 1960 the trend was everything neutral so everything "goes".I have always kind of decorated in that same mind set.Don't know why because I love bright colors,red and shocking pink being my favorites,and have ALWAYS wanted a red sofa! One of these days,after 50 years of marriage (and if I live long enough),I am going to have one by golly! So true,it is fun to take a walk on the wild side once in a while.Hot pink toenails is about as wild as I get these days!LOL
