Need KT Good Thoughts...Dr Appointment

I had a mammogram done last week and got a letter from the doctorÂs office yesterday. It said I show the need for further evaluation and they want to take a right breast special view mammogram and ultrasound. I am calling this morning for another appointment to have this done. I will keep you all posted on what is happening. I am trying not to worry and hopefully itÂs nothing but could use some magical KT good thoughts and prayers.

Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing. I had to go through with that this spring, now have to have another in 6 months. Oh, one thing, the second time you go, it is more intensive, sorry about that. Best of luck.

And another complication. I had a problem with my left eye when I was driving home from Seattle on Tuesday. My eye doc was able to get me in on Wednesday, and sent me to a specialist on Thursday. Seems that my lymphoma is now in the retina of my left eye. He seemed confident that radiation to the eye would work. So more radiation. He is pretty sure it's not melanoma. Thank God. I was to have a brain/eye mri Thursday at the U but I couldn't do it. I have to reschedule with conscious sedation! LOL I just freaked out.(yes, more freaky than normal... lol) I had a meeting with the nurse and one of the Doctors at the cancer care alliance yesterday, Ryan went with me. My blood counts are good. A little low, one step back, two steps forward, but they are working their way to normal. Everything is as expected. Blood tests, nurse/doc visits and more radiation. I will see the U of Washington's retinal eye specialist on Monday. And on Tuesday I have an MRI scheduled. Hope I can get through it this time! LOL.

OMG, I love the 'rack'! It very much relieved my compressed nerve pain. I had to adjust my rear view mirror every time I left my chiro! Peppi, keep us informed....we care. My husband opted for surgery when sciatica struck a blow. He was home the same day, walking around with comfort. His surgical wound was kept covered with a 2x3 piece of gauze! I hope that you have access to modern surgical procedures....which can be a much better option than injections.

Enough comments, 52, for one a week for a whole year - in three days, yet! Well, it has become four, now. And - long ones: takes a long time for the indicator telling how far you've scrolled to get near the bottom. Many differing experiences and ideas put forward - interesting. ETA next Mon. (nine days, now) While I can't offer statistics, I think that sharing a home with congenial others/friends might well extend one's life, quite likely primarily the good years ... and preferable than to being in an institution where one doesn't get to choose one's neighbours, especially ones lacking many of their mental or emotional marbles. I've thought it preferable if the founding group be people who knew one another well and were congenial. There would need to be contractual agreements from the beginning as to when the residents could be required to leave, were they unwilling: maybe allowing such a resident to hire an outsider to do their share of chores might be considered, but such could provide an unwelcome precedent. I have been thinking that very likely there'd be friends coming and going, such that when a vacancy developed, there might be one or several known persons as potential replacements. I've been thinking in terms of a rental property and I'm not familiar with the legal and financial ramifications of transferring partial ownership of a residential property, repeated every few years. I have hoped that a church, or several congregations together, might take on such a project - more lively than operating a cemetery! Perhaps part of the proceeds of sale of a closing church could fund a major portion, along with loans from initial residents, which would reduce to cover a modest increase in their ongoing fees. As some left, it would be necessary for the incoming resident to replace the departing resident's payout. blfenton ...... You referred to someone falling and breaking a hip but I've been thinking that often it's the hip that, due to weakened bone, breaks ... and down the person goes! Good luck for your husband. As just one data point and with no intention at all of making a suggestion or recommendation, I'll share that I take 1200 mg all at once, at bedtime. Even when I take it earlier in the evening with several wakeful hours remaining before bedtime, I feel no noticeable effect. What I think is a funny AND sorry story - for years and years, my prescription was for a daily dosage of 4-300 mg capsules, to be taken at night. About two years ago, the day after I'd requested a refill at the pharmacy, they called me. "Your prescription administrator is only going to cover 75% of the cost, so we need to charge you an additional amount (It was something like $150). I called the administrator and asked what was going on. I was told "Your plan changed and it covers a maximum of 90 pills per month for any one drug". I asked "Does it come in a 400mg size? 4x300 is the same as 3x400, would you cover that?" "Yes, of course, that's 90 per month, but your prescription is for 120 of the 300mg size and we'll only cover 90 of those per month". So I had to call the doctor and have them send in a new prescription for 3-400mg capsules per day instead of 4-300mg ones per day. It's been fully covered ever since. Such nonsense.

on the good side they found something that can be checked...had the u/s with bi-op...mine not so lucky, but my coz and bff, very lucky! any info you want about my current journey, i'll be glad to share...

A few years ago, I had a similar thing happen - went back in for the requested re-check - everything was fine - the 'dark spot' they saw was a reflection of the metal nipple cover! I was glad I went in and had it checked, though.

Mine is abnormal all the time and I often have get the follow up ultrasound. Nothing changes, it's no big deal. Hope it's true for you too!

Mine have always been abnornal. I get cysts from caffine that have to be asperated. I don't worry about it any longer.

I had a similar situation. Went in to have needle biopsy, but they decided to do a magnification prior to that. Turns out it was two blood vessels that were stacked.

Weird though, that you were notified by letter. I've never heard of that before. Were you ok with that?

I had to have the same thing done only mine was the left breast. I have a appt for August 19 for my follow up

You're in my prayers. I've had this happen, and it didn't help me to know that most times, it was nothing. Only the "all clear" made me stop worrying.

I had a lump (I found) last year and had it taken out. It was nothing, but I sure was nervous until the lab work was in.
